Curious if any 6906 owners have better accuracy with different weights of bullet. I am not at all impressed with 115gr WWB through my 6906 and the next time I take it out I want to try 147gr in it.

In general, my 3rd Gen 9mm compacts shoot better with 124 or 147gr rounds. My pre rail 3913TSW shoots very low with 115gr, acceptably with 124gr and to point of aim with 147gr.

Others have different results, but that's been consistent for me.

My 6946 shot to point of aim with 124gr rounds, as does my 3914DAO. NYPD specified 124gr rounds for the 3914DAO, so that's what I shoot in it.

I've never been impressed by WWB in anything. If you want to judge accuracy use good ammo.

It has been my experience with S&W and other brands of 9x19mm pistols that 115 grain FMJ ammo is often the least accurate. 115 grain JHP ammo, given its longer bearing surface, is often accurate. 124 and 147 grain ammo, FMJ or JHP, is often going to be the best bet for accuracy.

By the time the 3rd gen S&W pistols were introduced, most law enforcement agencies had abandoned the 115 grain loads in favor of 124 and 147 grain loads, so S&W 3rd gen 9x19's usually shoot low with 115 grain ammo.

All of my 9mm's shoot their best with 124gr . I can get by with the 115gr , but the accuracy degrades . If you're looking for some , Georgia Arms has their remanufactured ammo in stock . They have the 124gr in lots of 50 or 250 rounds . I've used their ammo for many years , and it's top notch stuff . For you reloads their "new" ammo is loaded in Starline cases so you can reload it several times , which offsets the cost .

My experience spans WWB, Blazer, American Eagle, S&B, Fiocci, Browning, Remington, and others in various weights.

WWB range ammo is fine for range ammo. Remington 115gr seems to be the worst performer among the brands at that weight. It's also the dirtiest.

I've never been impressed by WWB in anything. If you want to judge accuracy use good ammo.

5906

I was shooting my 5906 yesterday with WWB 115 gr. As others posted, group was low to POA. Next time at the range, going to try some Winchester Ranger 124gr.
