I was looking at a 6906 the other day and was wondering if anyone used one for CCW or self defense I know they were used as duty guns but have never owned one. Just thinking if it was worth picking up. Thanks

I like the 6906 because it has a relatively high capacity yet still conceals well. I prefer semi-automatics that are true double action designs, like this one. The 6906 is economical to buy and shoot (for the moment) with police trade-ins showing up regularly and lots of 9mm ammo out there. Another plus, it came in several different iterations over the production run (squared and round trigger guard, standard and Novak fixed sights, etc.) so you have a lot to choose from. Not everyone likes the 9mm cartridge, but this is a great package for what it does deliver.

I carry one on a regular basis, its a cdnn Ca. prison trade-in that was like new.I'm a Sheriff in Mich. and it is concealable and offers enough firepower.

I have one of these. It is very well built and accurate at shorter distances like 30-40 feet.
Mine was a re-import meaning it was sold outside the United States and then brought back into the States.
I keep it in the nightstand ready if needed. Meth is fast becoming a big problem here in southwest Michigan and we live on a farm.
Short answer. Yes it is a fine firearm. I recommend it.
See picture.

Sure, mine's a great little gun. About the size of a Glock 19, so plenty concealable for most folks.

I picked up one from CDNN and it is a great gun, I carry it all the time and it's a great shooter.

Hey Imjin138 noticed your screen name similar to mine, what unit were you in, I was B co. 1st /9th Inf. Manchu's, 84/85 Camp Greaves

I got one not too long ago, been carrying it lately, great little gun, I enjoy shooting it too, my 5906 has not been fired since I got the 6906.

Another CDNN 6906 here. It's a great shooter that will soon gain a spot in my carry rotation.

great conceal carry gun with lots of firepower. same lenght as 3913 just a little thicker in the grip

I don't carry anything but I have 2 of the 6906s. They are my favorite 9mm. I also like my 6946 DAO if I could get it back from my grandson.

I carry a 6906 often. It conceals nicely in my Stoner IWB. It is a very reliable gun and I would carry it even more often if I didn't love my 4566 so much.

I carry a 6690 (transition between 669 and 6906) every day. It's on the nightstand when I go to bed and gets tucked IWB in a Blackhawk holster when I leave the house. You can't go wrong with one.

Not an '06 but a '46, with a ClipDraw and a Novak's fiber optic sight. It's my everyday stuff it in my pants and go gun, has been for a while, and likely will be for quite a bit longer. I carry a 5906 mag for a reload.

Can a slide for a 3913 be used interchangeably with a 6906? Seems like I remember reading something like this a while back somewhere, but I can't remember where. And, how about a holster? If it fits one, will it fit the other?

The frame on a 6906 is .25" wider so I doubt they will interchange, but I haven't tried them. My 6906, 908 and CS9 all fit most of the same leather.

When I can't carry my BHP in uniform, I carry my 6906 with the 59 series mags with the adapter/filler. Love it. It is every bit as accurate as the larger guns and by just using the shorter mag I have my off duty carry gun. With either the BHP or 6906 I use my 940 as a BUG. I did buy an extra 6906 and 5906 from CDNN and both were better than advertised, only needed cleaning. My original 6906 and 5906 were NIB from CDNN at a great price.

Fantastic gun. I carried the 469 as my ccw prior to becoming a cop and switching to the dept Glocks.
469, 669, 6904, 6906 are all great guns. :)

I have been a Sig fan for years. I own nine of them. My off duty gun has been a P239 for about seven years. The one thing I didn't like about the 239 was the capacity. Eight plus one. I wanted something with just a few more rounds. Last year I picked up a 6906 on a whim off a forum member because the price was right and it looked like it could be what I wanted as far as a smaller, higher capacity pistol. I put it in my safe and forgot about it. I have been carrying it as of late and I have to say, what a great little gun it is. Twelve plus one should be adequate for any situation I may come across while off duty. I like it so much that I'm thinking that it may replace my Sigs as my favorite ccw. Plus, it fits the best holster I've ever owned, a DeSantis model 1 which was what I carried my 3953 in. So I guess you could say the purchase was a win,win for me.
