Ah Grasshopper, you have displayed most excellent wisdom in your purchase. May enjoy your new 696 as much as I enjoy mine. Another no dash by the way. I'm looking for the same round butt target or banana grips for it that I have on my 547. Great grips for a round butt K/L frame.
