Can anyone list the S&W models produced in stainless steel, that were available in the 8 3/8" barrel length ? ? Feel free to show some pics. Y'all know how we love pics. I'll start it off with my 629 Classic Hunter with unfluted cylinder and Sambar Stags by Eagle. This is my lone artillery piece. I'm wondering if they made the 625 in this length..........

Well, I own one. Model 617 no dash pictured below. They also made the 686 in an 8 3/8ths tube. Still looking for one of those.

Both of those sets are grips are absolutely gorgeous.

Here's a 686-2 I just bought on GB with a Nikon 2X Monarch scope for $779.00

Beautiful revolvers guys! Ya know, after the thrill and novelty of handgun hunting wore off, I began to realize that I'd rather tote a rifle around than a Super Redhawk with 7 1/2" barrel. Packs a bit more punch and is easier to shoot not to mention is only about a pound heavier.

Evening, All,

I have two S&W's with 8 3/8" barrels. One is my nickel-plated M29, which looks lovely, and shoots like a dream, and the other is my M657 .41 Magnum, in stainless, which I still need to take out shooting. The 657 came with Hogue grips on it, and no box of papers. But, it only cost my around $450, and was in outstanding condition. Plus, the .41 is my most favorite pistol caliber, and I just "had" to put that M657!! I can post photos later, but right now don't have time to dig either one of them out. Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Don't forget the Registered Magnum and the Model 27. Not to mention the 8 3/4 inch versions that Elmer Keith and Doug Wesson used to demonstrate the power of those early .357's on game.

Congrat's jerry. That's a beauty. I was watchin' it on GB myself but never bid on it. I did bid on and win this no dash, however. I'm lookin foward to pickin' it up @ my FFL's this weekend and shootin' it......

I would like a M27 in 357mag w/ 8 3/8'' barrel in nickel, an M57 in 41mag w/ 8 3/8'' barrel in nickel and an M29 in 44mag w/8 3/8'' barrel in nickel before they stop offering the nickel finish. Most of the other reveolver manufacturers have stopped the nickel finish process already. Bill

Once i fill in my gaps with the nickel finishes i'll go after the stainless and blue ones too.

Those longtube nickels are truly beautiful, BigBill. Did they make an 8 3/8" Model 17 in nickel also ? ?

Took this 8 3/8" no dash to the range today. It shoots like a RIFLE ! It shoots cloverleaf groups about the size of a nickle @ 50' off the bench, indoors. I completely obliterated the X-ring of the NRA Slow Fire target with 30 rounds. I'm a happy camper. The GB auction pics attached don't do it justice. When I get around to buyin' a new camera, I'll post some pics. For those who shy away from or distrust GB auctions, there are predominantly honest professional sellers (including myself), who deliver exactly what they promise.....
