I just noticed that I hit the 8,000 mark

So I am throwing out a little Karma

Since I am in Cape Canaveral and the rockets literally launch from behind my house . . . . . I hope that you do not mind the Nerdy solar system questions

This was taken while standing on my back porch

The rules are easy, you must have more than 10 posts under your belt and you must have your E-mail address in your profile

Now here is the fun part. Answer one question right . . . .

1) There is a large sphere that orbits our planet. We see it best at night. What is it's name?

2) What is the name of the big yellow thing in the sky that lights our days?

3) What is the name of the 3rd rock from the sun?

4) Where did Apollo 18 go to?

If you answer any one question correctly, I will send you this commemorative coin

There are four coins available to be won
The first correct answer to each question will be the winner
If any questions have no winner, the Karminator will chose for that slot
Answering more than one question will still only get you one coin

I will close this once we have all four answers, or on Johnny Appleseed day, whichever comes first

If you do not want the coin for yourself consider paying it forward to your favorite public Official.

Great Karma, for the questions 1) Moon, 2) Sun, 3) Earth, 4) Never left the Earth.

Thank for the chance. And I dream of making it down to watch a launch some day.

LOL...I did that last time. Didn't read the instructions and answered all the questions :D

Reminds me of the test in Government class in High School where the teacher said to read the whole test and then answer the questions. The very last line in the the multi-page test said to right you name on the first page and turn it in. I had forgotten about that. Great picture from your porch by the way!

1. Moon
2. Sun
3. Earth
4. No Apollo 18...only in the movies. (To the moon)

I like to opt out of the karmas and let others enjoy but I have to comment on that picture, that's just excellent! Amazing picture!

Who cares about the coins. I would love to have them or even one. BUT the picture. Holy Cow that is so freaking awesome. Earth is the answer to one question. But instead of the coin can we get a picture or two or three???

1. Luna
2. Sol
3. Terra
4. Third stage is on display at Johnson Space Center. The rest of the rocket was used to launch Skylab.

42....... Any Douglas Adams readers out there?

I'm gonna say Earth, of all the planets it's my favorite.

OP nice karma. As a kid, late '60s, growing up in Orlando I got to see several launches from Cocoa Beach area from Cape Kennedy/Canaveral. The most memorable was a night launch.
