Your replies brought back memories of the first time - wait - the second time too - oh who am I kidding, EVERY time I try to take apart my Ruger 22. It's older than the Mark1 so maybe it's just a Mark? Pre-Mark? Ruger Standard?
Anyway, there can't be a pistol more difficult than that, and it was my first ever semi-auto I bought back in the early 80's. Holy smokes I puzzled over that thing and finally found instructions somewhere and got it apart and back together. It's almost like the engineers came from those bent-wire-bar-puzzle makers and got a job at Ruger.
These days I don't shoot it much, and if I do I certainly don't clean it! I'm sure I couldn't figure it out, even knowing there's a lever in the handle that has to be moved during the process.
A .22 doesn't need cleaning anyway right?
