Hey Everyone,

I was thinking about getting a nice compact single stacked 9mm and the 908 is the first thing that pops up in my head. I have a few questions about a 908 since I can't find one at a local gun store.

According to the website the 908 has a spurless hammer (noted from the picture) and is described to have a "traditional double action."

From personal experience I find spurless hammers on Double action only (DAO) guns like the Sig Sauer DAK pistols or HKs with LEM triggers. Is in fact the 908 a DAO gun or does it have a DA/SA action like most modern firearms. I'm still confused with the term "traditional Double action."

And is it possible to switch the spurless hammer with a traditional hammer like the one on a 910? Let me know what you think!

The #908 is indeed a DA/SA semi auto. I am not sure, but you could probably swap the hammer for a spurred version. Personally, I like it just the way it is, having owned the one below for a few weeks now. I know where a 908s is in a shop here in metro Atlanta, GA.

thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately I'm a bit away from Atlanta, Ga (I'm in Santa Cruz, Ca)! I'll contact a local shop here and see if I can get a quote and order one in the near future.

I have a 908S and it has functioned flawlessly for 2500 rounds. It is a beauty. Traditional Double Action means the first round of a magazine is DA all others are SA.

I echo the comments on the 908. For me, it's nearly perfect as a concealed carry gun. It's taken me some practice getting used to the spurless hammer. I learned double action semi-autos on a Smith 39 and Walther P-38 and was taught to use the safety, but to lower the hammer with my thumb instead of letting it slam down.
The one flaw I have with the 908 is the sharp frame edge where the trigger guard meets the frame. With my firing grip, the edge is very sharp.
