940-3 roll through

Got a new 940; generally pretty happy with it.
But the roll through has a hitch at the end of its stroke; once in a great while it won't roll through at all. It hangs up at the end of the stroke. Any notions on options, other than a return to the mothership.

Could be a couple of things. There can be a burr on the star where the hand does the work of rotating the cylinder. There can also be a little side play between the hand and the other parts inside the frame. Sometimes one can shim the parts so there is still enough play but the hand travel is consistent, and less drag. I've seen several revolvers* during the last 20 years that had both play and burrs, and really needed to go back home to the factory for a bit. If you have a decent magnifying visor you can look at the star and see if there are burrs. You can also mark the cylinder to see if the drag is on certain positions, showing you where to look for drag. If the hand is a little bit fat that can also cause drag. Or any combination of above. Could also be a case of "long ratchets", or one particular ratchet that was not fit correctly.
Also, sometimes the tip of the hand can extend out of the hand window too far....to the point where it is out past the level of the breechface. This can cause the hand to catch on irregularities below the actual surface at the side of the ratchet that it's supposed to interface with.

Had the gun detailed when I first bought it; installed a lighter rebound spring, and polished up various parts. Didn't see any obvious burrs.
I'm okay polishing parts/changing springs, but the ratchets are a terror. It's easy to botch them, and end up with a carrying up problems.
Anyway, it's now on the way to Springfield...their service, of late, hasn't been up to their old standards. We'll see.

I'm hoping it wasn't a mistake to send it in. Have a less-than-local 'smith who works on S&Ws. If I'm not happy with how it comes back, I may resort to him instead.
Worked over a 940-1, and it is among the best DA triggers. A 640-1 also came out really well, even if I don't like the MIM parts as well.
