I have a 952 long slide, heavy slide sku #170275. Round count is less than 100. I have KN Nill bianchi cup grips on it now but I have org. grips, case, and all docs. Looks like I may to sell and just looking for a ball park value. Thanks Ragman.

I can't really help with the value, but I do know the long slide 952-2's are rare. I've never even heard of a long 'heavy' slide.

Way low. One sold a few months ago on GB for $2500 and I thought was a pretty good buy. I've seen them go for $3000 but I think it was a result of a bidding war. A regular 952 is selling around $2000 these days. High, yes, but thats what they run. You should be able to get $2500 to$2800.

Getting $2800 might be difficult unless you find someone who is looking to fill a hole in his collection. Getting $2500 should be relatively easy since you have the PC case and papers. The 'heavy barrel' is the hardest of the longslides to find, but I think it is the least aesthetically pleasing model, with its all matte finish and somewhat 'blocky' appearance. Just MHO.

Could someone please post a picture of a long slide 'heavy barrel'? I find no mention of such in the SCSW. Or at least a description of the differences from the standard long slide.

Note that there is no beveled cut-out area on the bottom of the forward section of the slide. I've never seen the term heavy barrel used in any official description either, but there is more metal in the slide and hence more weight due to the lack of bevel cuts. This is a design feature which reduces muzzle flip.

Here are a few more pictures so you can see that all variations of the 952 have the beveled area I mentioned, except the 'heavy barrel' ;)

Thanks all, for the clarification. I had to go check to be sure, but my dash-2 is the standard long slide.

I really like those Nill grips for shooting, and man, that is a sweet looking P210  Can you compare those two for feel and accuracy?

Thanks for the pics. I would have bet good money that no such heavy long slide existed. Went and checked mine, it is the regular long slide. I know of another member that has the 952 long slide Masterpiece. He has been thinking about selling it so you might keep tabs on the for sale section, it may show up.

wlp624: I love Nill grips,I have them on many of my guns. You just can not beat the look and feel of fine wood. Both of my long slides shoot better than I ever could. I do not think you could say one is better than the other. They each do everything they were made to do and then some. With that said, the Sig P-210 long slide is by far my favorite one. You just have to hold and shoot one to know what I mean. I just may favor 210's seeing as how I have 5.

Exactly. I had never heard of a heavy long slide, so I would never even have thought to look for the difference in the slide.

I love it when wlp624 rolls out the red carpet for us!

Thanks, my 952 collection is my favorite guilty pleasure.

I definitely plan on acquiring one to see for myself! ;)
