Does anyone know if you can find the mainspring strain screw at a local hardware or Fastenal store? I don't want to mess up the original but want to start to work on finding the perfect/consistent firing light trigger pull. I have a Wolff hammer spring and 11# trigger return spring installed. Just looking for a little more.

What I use on all my S&W revolvers is a 1/2 inch long 8/32 screw with an allen head. I apply blue loctite to the threads so it stays were I set it but it is easily adjusted. I have one on all 6 of my S&W revolvers and it works great.

Try ebay, I just looked and there seemed to be quite a few there. Although most are for sale with the mainspring. You could order one from S&W and they would rush it right out to you in six months or so :)
