why are these legendary barrels so hard to find? have the M&P 40 and id like one...thats not $500..exageration

No, if you're wanting to run 9mm through your 40, you really want a proper conversion barrel.

Yes, a standard barrel will work, mostly (As others here will strongly advocate for.), but as you will not get a proper or consistent lockup, I just don't feel comfortable with the idea, and you've just added another random variable to your accuracy.

A quality conversion barrel is a cheaper solution than what I did, which was to build a whole new slide/barrel/sight assembly. (I wanted different sights on the 9mm and 40S&W versions anyway, for different tasks.)
