One unique aspect of the M&P is if this breaks, the gun can still function fully. That is, unless it breaks at the actual slide stop projection.

Didn't take one, already swapped it with my compact. It still functions and I rarely use the button during a match because I never shoot to slide lock (unless I screw up my round count ) I wanted to have the left side button on for my match this weekend in the event that I start feeling for it and it's missing. It's still functional, just have to use the right side to lock the slide back.

I got my new slide lock from S&W today, when I called I talked to Pat (she is a great customer service rep) and she told me they were out of stock but would send a replacement as soon as they got them. Here's a better picture of the broken one now that it's back out of my 9C. Interestingly enough, the new lock didn't have the little bump that everyone is lusting after (doesn't matter to me). Curious.
