I recently came across a good deal on a box of Winchester 9mm Silvertip 125gr JHP. Clearance priced because one end of the box was damaged, but otherwise perfectly good. I purchased them thinking I'd give them to someone I know who has a 9mm, but once I got them home I discovered they were 9x23. I have reloaded standard 9mm before for them. I was thinking maybe I'd pull them apart and just load the Silvertips into some 9x19 empty cases I have laying around.
I've heard of people trimming down split .357 cases to .38 dimensions. Then I started thinking, so I don't waste the primers if it would be feasiable to trim them down to 19 dimensions and load as a 9x19 using all the same components exept the powder, using a known type of power with the apropriate load. Has anyone had any success in trimming down 9x23 cases to 9x19? Any pro/cons or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
