9mm Shield on order

I ordered my 9mm Shield today. I am going to be using it as an EDC instead of my Kahr. The Kahr has been great, it is just a tad too heavy to carry with all clothing types.

Looking forward to getting it and trying it out.

I was excited as single stack 9mm's with a safety are few and far between. I had been wanting Glock to make one (it wouldn't have had a safety) but they simply aren't going to anytime soon, so the shield fits my needs and is available currently.

Did you have an all steel Kahr? The Kahr CM9, PM9, and CW9 are all lighter then the Shield.

There are some out there I guess... You could try Bud's Police on Monday mornings... They were getting Shields in and selling them for $335 but they sell out pretty quickly!!

Yeah, it will be at least 2 weeks. A friend of mine ordered one at the beginning of December and it came in 2 weeks later. The shop got another shipment of 23 and they sold all 23 in 5 days.

My wife's Shield 9 took 6 months. Expect that long or more.

Keep checking Buds and Gallery of Guns. Buds had shields in stock Wednesday afternoon for a short time.

My LGS called me last April and said the Shields are out and said he'd put one aside for me. Picked it up that night.

I question that $335 price. I believe that is the price reserved for LE only. The current low market price is and has been $399-$419 for non LE.

You can question it all you want, but that's what they went for the last two rounds at Bud's Police Supply. Free shipping too. No tax. I give my FFL $20 and I'm into my Shield for $355 TOTAL.

You don't have to be a LEO to get the price...

Wow. I'm gonna have to keep my eyes on Buds website. I've been wanting a Shield but was resigned that I probably would not see one for quite awhile.

I picked up a M&P 9 4.25 today love the ergonomics of it

Any LGS in my area that I inquire about a Shield looks at me like I'm asking or an AR lol

To get the LEO price at Bud's Police you are supposed to supply a copy of your credentials. I'm not saying Bud's always sticks to that, but that's what they are "supposed to" do.

For Leo's (and maybe active duty military) as an alternative to Buds Police Supply, check with Quantico Tactical. I got on their list in October, and received my Shield in early December. Their pricing was about the same as Buds, and they don't charge your credit card until the gun ships.

As for the gun, it was better than I imagined it would be. The grouping was as tight as I've ever shot, and recoil (9mm) very mild. Well worth the wait.

Bud's sticks to the requirement, and I sent them my credentials.

For all you guys that tell us it can't be done, or we are doing something shady, please log onto Bud's Police and read exactly what the rules are for buying at LE prices. You DO NOT have to be in law enforcement to get the discount.

I asked my LGS to get me a Shield 9mm at the first of the year and picked it up 2 weeks later.

He got 12 that day. All were sold on arrival.

Are no Shields shipping to MI? I've been on a waiting list since November, all of the local stores say it will probably be a year or more. Most say their waiting lists are about 100 names long, and they haven't seen a single shield in a couple of months.

I was in a LGS yesterday and the sales guy was showing a woman the 9mm Shield. She was hemming and hawing. When she said she wanted to think about it I chimed in that I'd buy it if she declined. Turns out it was a special order for someone else and he was just showing her the size of it

That being said, the order slip had an order date of 11/5 and looks like it came in on 1/8. So it was ordered before the shtf and still took 2 months to be delivered

I have another LGS looking for one for me but if I can find a 40 Shield I may go that route and find a drop in 9 barrel

I just did the same thing. Every time I go the LGS which happens to have a range as well, I ask if the have em. They did last time. I bought 2 of the 3, and promptly sold them on gunbroker for about 100 bucks more than what I paid.

Got the shield exactly 2 months after I ordered it. It shoots amazingly well for such a small gun. I'm pretty happy with it.

are ya'll with Shield 9s from Buds talking to a certain individual?

I call once a week and each time a different person tells me they have not had any for a long time.

I have been on the wait (email) list since July 2012. I read on the forum that Buds does not email, so I questioned Buds and they say the email function still works.

I bought a used 9c on the forum and get to put the first rounds through it tomorrow.

Still want a Shield 9!!!!!!!!! I would prefer 335 but I am of the mindset that it might take more to get into a Shield now!!!!!!

if anyone has knowledge for an LEO purchase Shield 9 for the $335 price....let me know. Credit Card and FFL has been collecting dust since July 2012

Shot the 9c today. shot good and the wife liked it. It will be hers.
