took CC safety class yesterday with my Shield, shot pretty well but left of X on the target. I'm sure its my poor trigger pull and hold causing the issue. Most of the 50 rounds were in the same spot causing a nice hole in the target. No issues at all with reliability.

These small guns take a lot of practice and experimenting to get them right. There are many very good threads on here that discuss grip and trigger finger placement. They helped me a lot, and I recommend you check them out. For me, I shot left until I moved the trigger to the groove of my outer knuckle. I also dry fire practice a lot, and I also changed my grip to a "thumbs forward" style grip. You have a great gun, enjoy!

Dry fire to see how and if your front site moves with the trigger pull. Then shoot some more and soon you'll have it mastered.
