Who doesnt like show and tell? I have a few custom rigs I've had built for special occasions or special firearms.
I got married in May of 2015. I figured if my wife gets to spend whatever on a dress, I got to spend whatever on something of my own. Enter "The Wedding Gun". Between my suit, boots, the gun, and the holster I definitely spent more than she did, haha. Long story short I went through a number of mishaps with firearms (quality issues, size issues, finish issues) before I landed on the one that I eventually carried. I had these rigs made for it.
These were made by Ric of Desert Wave Leather, he can be found on etsy and facebook. He custom tailored every aspect to my requests. I love the work he does because it truely is hand made, there are minor variations, but he is a true craftsman who makes unique items.
First, I requested a shoulder rig for a full size 1911, with 2 spare mags to be carried support side. The end product was beautiful.
I determined I'd rather have a regular holster for the event, and asked him to whip up a belt and standard hip carry holster for me. He did not disappoint.
Most recently, I asked him to put together a holster for my little pea shooter that i carry around sometimes. It's a pretty little gun so I wanted something pretty to carry it in when its not in deep concealment. Black leather, shark skin, and grey stitching worked REALLY well with the grips i had put on it.
Anyway, thats a few of my nicer setups, for my sunday go to meetin' and BBQ type firearms. Many of my other holsters are alot more utilitarian, but these are for when form is necessary ALONG WITH function.
Hope you all enjoy.
