I went to the cardiologist today for my annual appointment, the result of a heart attack in 2016. He had a new lady working there taking patient blood pressure, weight, and EKG. She was an outgoing lady with a pleasant personality.

She took my temperature, per Covid 19 protocal and then told me to step on the scale. I thought to myself - "With my cloths, shoes, wallet, knife, and let's not forget the gun on my hip, this weight reading isn't going to be anywhere near accurate! LOL Sure enough....11 pounds over what I KNOW my weight to be.

We go into the exam room and she has me roll up my sleeve for taking blood pressure. No problem. Then she ask me to lie down and pull my shirt up so she can attach the EKG pads to my chest. I am wearing an undershirt with a wool hoodie over it. so I grabbed the middle of the hoodie AND undershirt with my left hand and start pulling it up while using my right forearm and elbow to hold that side down over my Shield 9mm, holstered at 4:00. Then she says to me - "Are you hiding a firearm?" I said - "Yes, I am" (Surprised). She says - It doesn't bother me. I'm not concerened... I carry too! A Smith & Wesson 9mm Shield"
Good for you, I said. She proceeds to tell me a couple of funny stories about the things people have done to try and hide the fact that they were armed. She busted every one of them! Lol

Turns out that she is a former EMT in Detroit. Nice to not have to go through all the extra effort next time I go there. :)

Our local Dr. Offices are not posted, but after hubby lost consciousness there once while CCing and was thoroughly examined by the responding ambulance techs, we now use the car lock box during visits.

Gun in a Doctors Office.

I was in LE for 35 years and retired for 15 years now. I am now 74 years old and go to a lot of Doctors. My old Dr who retired last year and myself always talked about guns. He knew that I was carrying one. Out of all the specialists that I now go to, only one is posted no weapons. When I first saw it I asked him about the sign, he mentioned that some state agency (Pa) required it but that I was exempt because I was retired LE. Been using him for at least 25 years. Never had a problem.

Almost all medical facilities are posted in my area.

Every medical facility in my area that I know of is posted. My reqular Dr. is with a practice and they have signs up No Firearms on property, I just lock mine in the car and don't mention it.

HOSPITALS are on the prohibited list for cpl holders in the State of Michigan, so I certainly wouldn't carry there. Doctors offices are NOT on the list, and I have yet to see one in this area that has a sign posted regarding guns.
