A good day to die hard ?

I liked A Good Day to Die Hard and all the other Die Hards too. But then, I liked Red, Red 2, and Looper. Gotta agree, the only decent Lethal Weapon was the original.

Seriously tho, what could be a worse movie than Sharknado?

Lone Ranger- he's not really alone so let's call him the Strange Ranger.
They spent a massive amount of money just to let Johnny Depp rant.
He can join this Forum and do that!

I liked "Red" and really want to see "Red 2" but haven't gotten around to it yet. We seldom go to the theater to see movies...my wife is disabled, and it's very hard for her to sit in a movie seat for 2 hours. We usually see movies when they are on NetFlix, or rent the DVD. Sometimes I see movies I think I'll like in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart, so I just buy them. It's about as cheap as renting the DVD, and if I don't like them I can give them to someone.

As fate would have it, we had this one in our Netflix queue and the DVD came today.

What a complete waste of time. How a movie that bad even gets made is beyond me.

At least he's honest...

"The Alamo" (new version) has been on repeatedly lately. I love both it and the original "John Wayne" version. As a fifth generation Native Texan, both movies make me cry every time I watch them (and I've watched them many times). I love the fiddle scene with Billy Bob Thornton in the new version. I hear that if your not a native Texan that had ancestors alive in Texas during or shortly after the fall of the Alamo, it just seems like another movie. It always stirs something up deep inside of me though, being that my kin arrived here after the fall of the Alamo, but during the time of Texas as a nation.

Those kinds of movies get made because the star's name is so big that even a poor film will make money. It has gone on for generations, and will continue. Also, ''world grosses'' are important, and many of these flicks do well in other countries. Still, I am more and more disappointed by what the typical US moviegoer likes to see. We are demonstrating ourselves to be a nation of morons, much as anything else. Some really abysmal stuff is put out and makes far better films pale in popularity...who's to blame..?

Mindless entertainment requiring a willful suspension of disbelief.....I enjoy them all! And.....I rant about the firearm stupidity, so its good for my blood pressure........

I enjoyed 'Nebraska' a lot more than expected. Normally I can count on the academy awards as being a good guide for movies to avoid, but we actually agree on this one.

Does this mean I'm getting old?

Just another case of a good movie that was done and redone and over done until it came undone and was done to death. The first one was great, the second one was pretty good the third one was okay and the rest were pathetic rip offs.

Some other examples of this kind of thing:
Rocky
Rambo
Even the Dirty Harry movies were getting kind of silly

In pursuit of the almighty dollar movie producers loose sight of the fact that when a move has been done it has been done. It's over. Move along and try to come up with a new idea or something.

The only movie franchise that I can think of right now that seems to be just getting better or at least holding it's own is the James Bond movies. The rest are aweful.

In the TV world I think the Jessie Stone stores are good....all of 'em.
