Ewwww! That is one ugly rug/towel. Gun looks great though. :)

I personally like them stock, no colors, BUT if you like it then awesome. Looks like you did a good job!!

it wont be so bright after a long range session

Can you tell us how you did it? I like the effect. I had a Winchester model 37 reblued quite a few years ago, and would like to restore the red letter "Winchester" on the bottom of the reciever, but have not quite figured out a method I want to attempt. You obviously produced great results. Thanks. jp

don't know how the OP did it, but most people use a crayon to fill it in.

Personally i'm not a fan of it, but whatever floats one's boat.

I have seen a product that is designed to fill lettering and logo's on guns. Comes in different colors including gold etc. I don't think I'll do it to mine but I think the red looks good and in the photo's could pass for being professionaly done or factory if you didn't know better. We all have different tastes. I personaly think the rail takes away a lot of the looks and wish it had been offered without.

Looks great. Nice job. The contrast of the red on the black is nice.

I like it! Although I probably wouldn't have filled in all of the letter. Maybe just the M&P 357c

I filled all mine in with black crayon. Doesn't stand out very much. :D

I am not sure how he did it but it appears to be nail polish, and here is the simple way to do it;
  • Degrease the area you want to paint with isopropyl alcohol with a Q-tip
  • Take a nail polish of your choosing and apply liberally over the recessed area of the slide or magazine
  • Using a paper or cloth towel or clean rag remove excess paint from the area you painted using non acetone nail polish remover
  • Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have an acceptable looking finish

It only takes a few minutes to do the above process and if you want to change anything then use nail polish remover to remove the old paint and then redo the area you wish to do!

Keep in mind you might feel a little odd in the women's cosmetic department buying nail polish remover and nail polish and such but hey it is your gun you are working on anyway, and you just might be a CCW like me!
