Deadin. You win.
It is a Scent Botle lock. Made in 1812. It is a invention ofthe Scotisch reverend Alexander Forsyth in 1807.

Pfffffff. There are days in the week that I do not have that in my wallet.
But this is the very first percussion lock. The flask contains a kind of fulminate. They turn around an ax. The ax is hollow. There is a tiny ditch in the ax. if you turn the flask around and back, there is a litle fulminate in the ditch. Then it is under the firingpin. The rest is the start of the percussioncap.
The first time when I have seen this in life is back in the late 1990 when I was invited to see the White Tower in London. Ther I have seen and hold amazing things like this scentbottle lock. It took more than 20 years to see an other one.
Boy I am glad. This is fine technik.
