I've been on the search for a Model 25-2 for the last six months. There's something about the 1955 Model Target in .45ACP.

This one was manufactured in 1975 (Ser. N3014xx). It came with the display case, which needs reflocking. The turn ring is barely discernible. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of use, and the bluing is really beautiful.

Trust me when I say it is one fine shooting firearm. I put down my 45 autos to use it in IPSC and haven't gone back.

Nice example for sure! On mine, I use the Hogue monogrip and save the factory stocks for when I want to put its Sunday clothes on.

Great gun, great shooter, and a great price. Here's a pic of my favorite S&W, my 1955 Target Model S130xxx. It goes to the range with me at least once a month. I didn't have a case for it so I made one out of a plastic S&W case.

Dennis:
I also have been on the hunt for a 25-2. All of the ones I could find within 300 miles were selling for $1,250.00. I finally found one in pristine condition complete with display case and tools for just south of $1,000 and promptly purchased it. I bought 300 auto rim cases from Lock Stock & Barrel and I bought some full moon clips at the last gun show in the area. Now to just get the time to take it out and shoot it.

Anyone ever come across a Model 25-2 chambered in 45 Colt with a 4" barrel and how would that compare to the 25-5 relative to strength?
