Wondering if someone can tell me if Mim
produced action models can use Forged
Target Hammers and Smooth Target
Triggers in place of Mim parts w/o problems.
I read mim parts are swell ..just asking about
swapping the mentioned parts..
Do the Heritage 24-5 models use the hammer based firing
pins or do they use the newer frame based hammer
firing pins?
Thanks for your knowledge and info..
Best Randy..

Yes forged H&T can be used in place of MIM parts as long as the MIM hammer still has a firing nose. If it doesn't, the forged hammer would have to have the firing removed or cut off and possibly the front face of the hammer contoured to match the MIM hammer face.

The 24-5 was introduced in 2001 and so was the floating firing pin in the frame, so the 24-5 likely has it.
