A Question

Hi As a relatively new S&W owner (Shield9) and to the forums as well, I am having a difficult time sorting out the numerous SS&W models referred to in the posts. Is there a reference (chart or book) that might shed a little light on what the gun under discussion actually is? I like to learn as I go, but it is often a mystery to me.

The most complete book is the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson - SCSW for short.

It is a few years old, so the values are outdated and the newer guns aren't in there, but you can always ask.

It hasn't been updated for a while so it doesn't have all the new stuff on it, but here's a web page from handloads.com that I've had bookmarked for a while. Very useful when I began buying revolvers.
