A quick Apex question

I just ordered the FFS kit with polymer trigger. According to the ad text, it comes with 4.5 and 5.5 lb springs. I will most likely go the 4.5 route and see how it feels. As someone above said, it is not permanent and can be changed again if I am not satisifed. Thanks for all the responses guys.

You are going to love it. After my second trip you the range with it in my Full Size 40 I am completely enamored with the trigger using the 4.5# return spring.

I just picked up a 40C from another member here, manual safety model like my FS. It's going to be getting the polymer FSS kit as well, but ok be putting in the 5.5# spring because it's going to be a CCW pistol, not a target gun.

I've never liked the M&P triggers until now. I had a 9C with the DCAEK, hated it. I just couldn't get used to it. The FSS has me considering selling off my G27 with an aluminum LSPI trigger, which is my current primary carry gun. (Will never happen, but it is that good of a trigger)

i bought the dcal kit and then the polymer trigger...the trigger noe breaks at 4.5 and the reset is almost not at all. shoots great but for me 4.5 is a little light for EDC. ive had a few times at the range where i shoot and a second shot follows real close and not 100% by my choice. im sure more shooting will stop that as i get used to it, but for me...its a range gun

If you want the FSS trigger group I believe it must use the Apex trigger be it poly or aluminum.

This is correct. I have experience with trying to make it work with the FSS and M&P trigger. The problem you run into is that the gun will lock up due to the trigger being pulled to far to the rear and jamming up the disconnect. This leads to fun problems such as hammer follow or full auto potential.

I did a step further on my M&P. I went with the FSS trigger and sear and then the comp spring kit. I got it all going after removing the trigger safety and clipping a few coils off and reinstalling. Now the glock blade disengages prior to the light trigger moving. Otherwise you're stuck with the four plus pound trigger. I've got a short two and a half pound trigger with little pre travel.

That is where I am a bit confused. The kit I ordered off Amazon through Solid Tactical, states trigger pull with either a 4.5 or 5.5 spring. I can live with that without a safety....

"Includes 4.5 and 5.5 pound springs from Duty/Carry & Competition Kits"

Yet, I saw a Youtube video where a guy states his is somewhere in the 2lb range with the FSS kit. I have never fired a handgun with a trigger that light, and not sure if I want to.

Maybe they put this kit together for those of us that do not want a super light trigger? It appears to be the same kit Sarge1967 posted on Midways site. I went with Amazon as we have Prime with them, so free, fast shipping.

Well my gun gauge came today and I measured it at a consistent 3.5 lbs
My Ruger SR1911 measures out at 4.75lbs and it has the thumb safety

When they put the TS in I will ask them to use the springs for the 4.5 or 5.5 as I still have the original and springs that came with it
