I've been paying for bags in WNY for several yrs now. The 2 major grocery chains charge for them and Wal Mart started last week. Funny thing is Dollar Tree DOES NOT charge ??????? My whole life I was told to use plastic and recycle it. Now I'm told plastic is the Devil. NY is always at the forefront of the craziness. They are now trying to ban natural gas appliances after being told my whole life that natural gas is the ultimate green energy. They don't realize in our area of the country our electric comes from natural gas and coal powered plants. You can't make this stuff up.

To OP with all respect, They offered to refund the 20 cents to make up for their egregious mistake and then you still refused to accept the groceries. At that point, you are officially an unreasonable old codger. What more do you expect from them?

This happened on Jan 2 and you're still butt hurt about this 3 weeks later? Get your thyroid checked.

The employee offered to refund 20 cents. The local stooge said they couldn't and wouldn't refund that amount. And they didn't.

Maybe I should go on Judge Judy and sue for the two bags I paid for but never got.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Didja forget about protesting outside the store in question in a chicken suit by chance? That woulda fixed them I bet…

Why a chicken suit? Did it have some significance in your life to make you think of it? Haven't been back to the store since.

Two major food chain stores in Colorado. Two different ways of complying with the new law. I chose the way that actually makes sense.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense to you.

I never realized how great I had it here in OKC! They still ask if you want paper or plastic and it's free! They also ask if you would like it carried to your car. The problem is....since I'm single I hardly ever buy much at the grocery store, its easier and not much more expensive to eat out.

The bags were never "free", they were just never listed on the receipts. Did anyone ever see taxes, rent, utilities, etc. on their receipts ?

Sokay. Don't worry about it none. The chicken suit was tongue in cheek. What doesn't make sense is any of your "rant!" If you want, pm me your address and I'll send you a quarter. That way you will be ahead a whole nickel! Cost me a forever stamp and a quarter, but well worth it iffin you don't post anymore nonsense like this…

Maybe get a cat to occupy your time…?

Definitely enjoyed this discussion, shows contrasting lifestyles

along with different trigger levels of the members on the forum.

Maybe paying up for XYZ incidental item has no impact on some

here, hopefully with inflation we will all be able to keep our

kitchen cabinets full along with our bellies.

I had a brother-in-law who was so cheap he would rub all the loose skin off an onion before he bought it because he was paying by the pound. I gave him a dollar once and said - there, now you never have to do that again for the rest of your life.

He laughed, took the dollar, and kept on rubbing his onions. Showed me!

No.

No cat deserves that.

A parrot would be much better.

"SQWAK! I showed them! Sqwak!

You mean the person who gets paid minimum wage, was only doing what they were instructed to do and couldn't change store policy if someone held a gun to their head?

Yeah, me too.

Where do you buy your groceries? 7-Eleven?

Except for newhires these people make a good wage along with benefits. They are empowered to make changes to an order. I've even gotten free items when it was their screwup.

I said it once already but apparently reading comprehension skills are not required by Forum members. The issue wasn't with the frontline employee and I made it a point to tell them. It's with the desk jockeys.

Awesome. You've moved on from insulting a minimum wage grocery employee to insulting a moderator on the forum you use to voice your umbrage. Front lawn, bathrobe, lawnmower, shovel . . .

Sorry, it seems the forum isn't buying what you're selling.

I'd post some sort of sarcastic meme, but it's my night off, I've had a few beers, and you aren't worth the effort.

I have coffee most every morning with a group of guys at Panera Bread and one of the guys is the classic grumpy old man type who will yell loudly across the restaurant if they take too long refilling the coffee or slow to deliver a pastry. Several times he's even marched into the kitchen and yelled at them because his bagel was not cooked perfectly to his liking. Some of the other guys in our group think he's funny but I don't care for his attitude. A few times he's threatened the employees saying they are getting ready to loose his business and he will never set foot in there again and I bet every manager, cook, and waiter would gladly give him anything in the restaurant he wanted for free if he would promise to never come back.
