A simple and elegant breakfast very easy to make

So you're having a Jewish breakfast! Bagels and Lox!!!

Millions of NYers & others enjoy them & they aint Jewish, count me in. Simple/delicious YES, elegant IDK. Try a slice of tomato & lemon juice on it. THANKS for the craving.
I live in the Phoenix area of Arizona and I can state that bagels and lox are very popular here and we don't have a large Jewish population like New York.
Bagel shops are everywhere and every supermarket carries them that they usually make on site.

It seems goetta originally contained offal but not the modern version. I'm sure it's now a more generally accepted flavor. I kinda like offal stuff like liver pudding and scrapple. I'm sure it's good. If I make it up that way I'll try it.

IT'S NOTHING PRESONAL WJ

What's with the wonder bread remark? I've never eaten wonder bread in my life and there is no reference to it in my post and it is not in the pics.

Your pic of circle bread, what we called toad in a hole, the bread shown REMINDED ME of wonder bread, THAT'S ALL. Not that you might actually eat wonder bread. All breads were changed to protect the innocent. "Wonder bread" would include most of the generic types of that soft, kinda flavorless sliced breads found at supermarket chains & so very popular here in FL, Notice I didn't say the South. ;) Nothing to get worked up over. If you like it, EAT IT. TEHO, I'm a hard bread type. THAT'S ALL.

I do have a favorite breakfast, but it's too much of pain to put together and fix. Once or twice each year, the wife and I run down to Bisbee, AZ, check in at the century-old Copper Queen hotel, and in the morning, THIS is what I order in their main floor dining area. Eggs Benedict - none finer.

GOETTA

YOU CAN'T HANDLE (may not want to) THE TRUTH. When the waitress told me scrapple was made from the parts they CAN'T USE in sausage, I had to stop & think what those parts might be & if I really wanted to eat them. Lips & other parts??? Sometimes you are better off not knowing. "A ground meat/grain concoction". If it tastes good, eat it & don't ask questions. :D

Got it, Thanks for the clarification. :)

Dammit, Rusty, you had to mention goetta. I love the stuff, especially Glier's hot version. Local Kroger stores generally only carry the standard one, which is delicious, but not as good as the spicy.

I prefer goetta to breakfast sausage, unless it's the sausage I make myself. It's better for you, since it's made with steel cut oats.

I can't get to Kroger, so I'll have to order some.

My granma made scrapple. Mostly pig liver and cornmeal.
Tasty stuff much better than the Habbersettes (sp?) found at Publix.
