A thread for flawless Shields

My 9mm over 1000 rounds, all good
My 40 newer, over 300 rounds, all good

My Shield 9mm has around 350 rounds through it. It runs great!

My 9 Shield has been perfect from day 1. It's more accurate than my Sig 229 in 40. It does a good job as a small carry pistol....

My Shield 40 has 629 rounds through it. Mostly Remington UMC but also American Eagle, WWB and Remington Ultimate Defense. The only problems have been with me.

Have 3 Shield's, 2 in .40 and 1 in 9mm more than 5K total down range = no problems. I trust my off duty life with the .40 Shield. Wife also carries the .40

I got my 40Shield in June of 2012 after being second on the list of my gun store SerialDXT0579 Test fire date of 5/15/2012, with no issues and it has few round through it but it is flawless and is my backup gun the only problems with this weapon is the limited firepower and lack of magazines for it at a reasonable price!

Shield .40 with 500+ down range. Not a problem except: it has failed to make it to the range as often as I'd like. But: it never fails to be on my side.

Love my shield .40. Easy to shoot accurately and a dream to carry.

Found a 40 Shield almost a year ago that is definitely a keeper. Eats any ammo I feed her and with 500 - 700 rounds down range behind her has not had a single FTF, FTE or misfire. Also passed the trigger reset test on the recent bulletin.

This is just what I was looking for for an EDC weapon. :D

Mine (40) runs perfectly with approx 1K through it. Always amazed how accurate it is. I reload for all my guns so have tried numerous type powder and bullets and everything I feed it works great.

Bought my Shield 9 one week after the release in April 2012.

2,000 rounds later zero failures amd that is saying a lot considering I owned and sold a Kahr CM9 and Beretta Nano before I took a chance on a firearm (M&P) that I had very little knowlege of before I purchased my Shield.

My only regret is buying a full size XD 45 before learning about the M&P brand.

If I was to do it all over again I would buy a full size M&P in a 9 mm to complement my Shield.

My XD 45 collects dust with my Shield 9 taking most of the range time.

980 rounds downrange with my Shield 9 and all but one of them have been flawless. This includes 200 rounds of Selway's Ugly Ammo (very nice ammo for the price...clean and accurate). The one FTFeed was a Remington Golden Saber in the short mag. No issues with it in the 8rd. mag. No WW White Box ammo to date, and none to be bought in the future either. Precautions are easy to take.

I have two in 9mm. Both with Apex Carry kits, and Novak sights. One has the new Apex trigger for the Shield, the other is waiting for me to find the time to install it.
Both flawless in operation, with well over 500 rounds through each, and passed around at the range to fellow shooters.

Good idea for a thread. Add me to the list please. Got my 40 last summer, and it's been nothing but good, so far. Eats everything I run through it. No failures. It's become my EDC.

I must admit though, that I've been reading about the problems, too, just like the OP has. Appreciate all those guys sharing their bad experiences and problems. I'll keep a close vigil.

A semi-auto pistol that has never in a thousand rounds of quite varied ammo so far failed to fire, even once, definitely instills confidence.

This Shield is a keeper.

I couldnt be happier with a perfectly fine little carry weapon. I've had my Shield .40 and 9mm since they came out. I've converted the .40 to 9mm with the factory barrel (and still have it). Sold the 9mm Shield and bought my ole lady a Shield .40. I also converted hers with a factory 9mm barrel. Not a single problem with any of them in any way shape or form.

When the the 300lb hog came charging at me a month or so back. The Shield .40 gave her a dirt nap with 1 round to the head. I can honestly say, i trust my Shield hands down. When i needed it, it was there and did its job.

Both of my Shields have been flawless. No idea how many rounds because that would require me to keep track.

My M&P Compact and SD9 have also both been flawless. 4 Smith and Wesson's and zero malfunctions. Hard to beat a perfect record.

I am one of the guilty parties starting a mishap thread, but thought it was ammo related. Today I shot 2 boxes different types of ammo with out issue. Put some of the Bosina Tula in and it had issues again.

So no issues with the decent ammo!

Whoa! Nice shooting under pressure Smitty! Glad the Shield did exactly what it was supposed to and protected you. I have no experience with hogs, I didn't realize a 40 was strong enough to drop one. For some reason I thought they had super thick skulls like bears.
