It sucks to say this...but we really are under attack. I'm not saying "attack" as in violently...but in the eyes of the idiot masses, those of us for personal freedoms, pro 2A, pro America, and members of groups like the NRA are now deviants.

I refuse to put anything on my vehicles...I just don't trust people anymore.

My NRA support is my checkbook and in conversations with people, some of whom are opposed. I never believed in riding around saying "Lookee here, look at me! I'm for/against [insert cause du jour]. If nothing else, there are too many nutbags who'd key a vehicle with a sticker they don't like. I do my best to be a "gray" man. Blend in, stay in the background, everything low key...until it really matters.

Not at all. Here in California I wear NRA hats (one that just has “NRA-ILA” on it) all the time and welcome people to start arguments which never happens. I’m also very vocal about gun rights with strangers. But the O.P. Is talking about dealing with cowards. Those who’ll break into your car when you aren’t around, or vandalism because you support the NRA. Something related to this. Criminals target rental cars to rob people leaving airports because they know foreign tourists won’t be armed.

I plan to keep my NRA personalized special license plate in its chrome blue line plate frame while continuing to keep valuables out of the car and out of sight whenever possible.

My vehicles and wardrobe bear nothing that advertises gun ownership nor political or military affiliation. It is not out of lack of "machismo".

I just wish to navigate the public unnoticed.

All those folks who don't worry about advertising guns in the car, where do you put your gun when you go to the post office, or, in many "free" states, a host of other don't-carry places?

I see a lot of NRA and gun brand stickers around here, and this is the liberal side of Oregon. In view of the fact that the vast majority of people likely didn‘t see that article and are oblivious to the danger, there’ll be way too many potential target vehicles in NASCAR parking lots or similar venues. Probability says that trying to get bait vehicles hit would likely be a wasted effort.

While I can understand some increased concern about vandalism given the NRA’s current unpopularity in certain quarters, I don’t see why this decal/break-in issue is being played up now. Nothing has really changed there, other than crime rates have dropped continuously over the last three decades. I’m sure it happens, but I somehow doubt it warrants extensive efforts to keep your pro-gun views undercover.

There is a huge difference between being "afraid" and/or "hiding" and choosing not to ADVERTISE that something of valuable may be stored in your vehicle.

I wear my NRA hat and T-shirts, but I don't invite criminals to break into my unattended vehicle. I don't view it as FEAR but rather as PRUDENCE.

I don't put a sign in my front yard that says "VALUABLES TO STEAL INSIDE" either. Just doesn't seem like the thing to do.

My vehicles don't have any stickers of any kind but I do wear my NRA caps and a couple of T-shirts. It's not out of fear of them being broken into, I just don't like stickers on my cars. I wear the caps and shirts because I am a proud member of the NRA and I want people to know it. I've never had a negative comment on the caps or shirts but they have gotten a few conversations started with like minded people.

There are a lot of runners in my area, multiple 13.2 and 26.1 marathon decals. My 5.56 decal usually gets odd looks and the occasional question. David.

But seriously guys. I've worn my NRA hat off n on for the past 28 years. No one cares..... I have had NRA stickers on the back of the cars I've owned since 1993 when I first joined the NRA.... No one cares.

I've opened carried many times, in fact, I open carry at least 1-2 times a week......no one cares...

You guys need to move to Texas.

I was taught during my years overseas to not standout in any way (other than the haircut and the way we walk...) to lessen the chance of being targeted. (Red Army Faction and other groups)

I keep the same mentality stateside, nothing to show affiliation to anything.

I never, never use t-shirts, bumper stickers, hats, etc with gun advertising for exactly that reason.

Oxygen wasters will think there is something to steal or damage your vehicle just because they hate/are afraid of something you like.
