It's an SR9c. Frustrating, because otherwise I like everything about the pistol. Size, concealability, capacity, fires anything including any +P+ ammo, accuracy, just great. Except.Have to ask, what model Ruger are you having issues with that you had to send it back 4 times??
What issues? Just curious....have had to send back a LC9 and SR1911, but issues were resolved. Shield replaced LC9.
Now looking at an LCP Custom or something smaller than the Shield.
My sample had an occasional, erratic, failure-to-reset-trigger issue. It would fire, cycle in a new round, but the trigger remained back, unset. Very disorienting failure, doesn't feel like anything else. All the normal "bang" things happen, but trigger is "stuck" back for the next round. First time this happened, it was noticeably worse as the weapon got dirtier at a 300 round tactical handgun class. Couldn't even take the 5-rounds in a second test toward the end, because it wouldn't *******' fire 5 times in a row!
Four trips to Ruger couldn't stop it. Last time I was optimistic, but on the 3rd range trip, about 80 rounds in, it did it again. Look on youtube for "SR9c fail to reset", you'll find a number of videos of this. It's a known issue on the SR9/SR9c. Finally, they're replacing it now. Ruger and I both gave up on it. They think they had issues with the first design iteration of the fire control housing, and apparently they've improved it.
Anyway, I'm liking my Shield, bought one for my wife since we both shoot it decently. Done, done, done with Ruger. Never again. Bad taste in the mouth now, I guess.
