After several months trying to find E3, or another suitable 12 Ga. powder, I found an 8 lb of Nitro 100 NF. I have never used it, but I have been fond of many other Accurate powders, so I took a chance and bought the 8 lb. Can anyone recommend load for 1 oz. # 8's to reach 1200 to 1250. I normally load into Rem STS hulls with Claybuster Pink wads.

They mention on the container it is suitable for several handgun loads but to ONLY load from loading data for the "NF" powder. I don't plan to use it for handgun loading, unless I completely run out of 231, titegroup, unique, WST. Just curious if any one has had experience with it and is it promising.

I really like Nitro for 12 Ga. trap loads........
just that the price of it got too high for me, even though it was very clean and shot well.

I used Rem STS hulls and w209 primers and got good results with:

7/8oz 12so ......17.3grs for skeet.

1oz CB 4100 ....16.0 to 17.3grs (1245 max ) 18.5grs + NG

1 1/8 oz Fig 8 ....16.5grs at 1145 fps.

Rem STS fig8 .....17.5 at 1200fps for Handicap.

I went to red dot and e3 for standard loads to the 23 yard line and used Green Dot and Unique for 3 Dram 1 1/8 Handicap loads back at the 27.
Universal was just too dirty and hard to get good results with.
Passed on Clays do to high pressures and the pattern board results.
Good shooting.

Thanks, I use Rem STS hulls, and CB1100 1oz wads. E3 has been my favorite, but i'm getting real low, and it has been unobtainable around here and I didn't what to pay shipping and hazmat on top of it. I found a 8 lb of Nitro 100NF, and while I am not familiar with it, I do like all the other Accurate powders I have ever tried. I had gone to the website and figured out probably 17.4 gr. and I'm curious if a 26 (MEC) bushing will drop that much, which is what their chart says it will drop. I was actually looking for Promo if I couldn't find E3, and I drove over 80 miles to Graf's to find the Nitro. It was the only 8 lb of any shotgun powder they had in stock. Still looking for 231 they didn't have any, and almost no pistol powder. This shortage has got to stop soon.

I have stock bushings and "Modified" bushings for my Mec loader..........
I did use my #26 for i6 grs, the #27 for 16.5grs and the #28 for 17.3grs but due to powder lots and bushing volumes you will probably get different results.

A 1oz with 16grs of Nitro 100 with a CB4100 wad is logged
in my data books as having around 1180 fps and did well
at the 16 yard line with a Mod. choke and #8.5 lead pellets.

Back then I did not try minimum and maximum loads......
but 16.5grs with 7 1/2 magnum lead and a Full choke worked at the 27 yard line with a 1 1/8oz. payload.

Thanks. Just as soon as I use up my last little amount of E3 I'll start playing with the Nitro110NF. From what I can gather there shouldn't be much different results with the "New Formula". I'll just load 5 of a couple different ones around 17 to 17.5 and run across the chrono and see how close to 1200 - 1250 I can get with consistency. I'm not a Registered Bird shooter, I just shoot in club leagues and use #8's for everything. With the team average we seldom get to shoot beyond 24 yards, and using the same load with skeet keeps me even on judging leads.

You can stretch that e3 powder out farther if you load a 7/8oz
payloads with a AA12L (gray) wad and 13.5 grains of powder under it for 1140 fps.................

That eight pounds of Nitro will last a long time.
Happy reloading.
