I am glad to say that I bought my MP15-22 the Saturday after New Town. While I wait for my order of spare mags to be processed from back order through S&W, I thought I might look at investing in accessories for it. Chiefly grips, scope and any other thing useful. I don't get to shoot much and am relatively new, but enjoy it immensely. My other rifle is a M1 Garand that I shoot at the range with open sites. Anyone have any advice for a newbie? My thanks in advance.

So you can avoid getting 865,943 different answers, my advice is to use the forum's search button. There are threads on cleaning, grips, stocks, sights, scopes, etc., etc.

My first add was a grip. I went with the Magpul angled fore grip. I just got my gun also so can not comment on it too much yet. The next thing I did was upgrade my stock. When I was looking at the rifle to purchase the factory stock almost kept me from getting the gun. It was loose and rattled but after browsing these forums I saw it was a quick and easy switch. I replaced it with the Magpul CTR Mil-Spec and it works great. It's tight and does not rattle at all. Next up I am figuring out what to put on for optics. Good luck and have fun with it! There isn't really a right and wrong answer on what to get. It's all up to you and and the type of shooting you will be doing.

theres gonna be a bunch of opinions...but it also comes down to how you wanna pay for something.

Here's is what I did to mine.

Magpul STR OD
Hogue grip
UTG rail covers OD and Black
Magpul AFG2
Truglo Dual Illumination red dot
Nebo HP190 light
Crayola tacticolor
2 extra 25 rnd mags

That is it for now!

Thanks for all the advice and tips. They are much appreciated. It looks like the 25 rd mags will have to wait for awhile.

It's entirely up to you, what your budget can withstand, it will get expensive depending on the look and functionally you want, but it's fun.

This is what I did to mine, changed everything but the upper and lower receiver and barrel.

There is a thread for 15-22 pictures. It's pretty long with a tremendous number of different iterations of this specific gun. That's where I started my research. I found some examples of what I liked and then began to build my own.

I started with a Hogue grip, blackhawk single-point adapter, A-1 handle topped with a Weaver rail, tube type red dot and ladder rail covers. Next is . . . . . !!!!
