On August 8th, 1971, under a set of circumstances that would appear to be totally contrived, I had the good fortune, (more like life saving experience) to meet Miss Pam. We went for a short ride up to Huntsville State park on the scoot and my life was turned around forever and destined to be blessed from then on.
August 4th, 1972 We got married in her parents home in N Houston. I've spent the last 42 years gazing into those deep blue eyes and feeling the touch of those soft loving hands, and melting in that sweet smile of hers and I still, after all this time, find it hard to believe.
I'm not what you would describe as a "lucky" person. I suppose that I used up all my luck when I met her and recognized what a wonderful girl she was and what a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother she'd make. Not quite sure what she saw/sees in me but what ever it is I'm glad for it. She could have married a better looking, richer more talented man but she couldn't have ever found a man that would/could/did/do love her like I do. Maybe she is aware of that I don't know.
Anyway, we are happy today and celebrate our life together as we pretty much do every day. Thank you Pam for your sweet love, for your gentle heart, and for the bottomless well of patience that has made it possible for you to remain at my side all this time.
All my love always, in all ways.
Jack
