My son just forwarded a message from the NRA ILA. The legislature passed and the Governor signed a bill to reform AL gun laws.
The major pro gun provisions are;
Changing from a "may issue" to "shall issue" system.
Requiring Sheriffs to use the NICS system for background checks.
Provides for an appeal of denial.
Gives and option of 1-5 year terms on CCW permits at the applicants choice.
Extends reciprocity to ALL other states CCW permits.
Extends the Castle Doctrine to places of business.
That way gun reform should work. No doubt the Brady bunch will decry these reforms. They're just "common sense" to me, so I don't know why they would complain.
