alliant american select powder

Just wondering if any of you have used or know anything about american select powder. I have been wanting to try it for light load 357 mag. The only place that i have found it is gun broker in 10lb or 8lb. The price doesn't seem too bad but i noticed that none of it ever sells. Is there a reason that nobody wants it?

They probably don't want to pay the hazmat fee on top of the asking price and shipping.

It might work in pistols or revolvers?

Just that I could not get it to work in my 12 Ga. with trap or hunting loads, vs the old standby powders.
I never bought another bottle when it was empty.

I have shot a lot of it , from 380-45acp.
It is clean, and shoots fine.
I would have no problem using it.
It is a fast powder, so be aware..
Look at some of the old reloading manuals from hercules, and alliant. You will find loads.

I've used it in 45 ACP with good results.

I use it for .45 ACP target loads. I've also used it for 9mm target loads. Just about the same weights as Bullseye. I also use it to load 12 ga. 2 3/4" target loads with #8 shot. These loads shoot well in my Browning A5 and Weatherby O/U. I've been looking to get more for about a year. It has been very hard to find around here.
