I don't see any reason to wipe them down. I just did 100 for my 44 mag. I let them dry for a couple days and then loaded them. Other than a tiny bit of stickiness, no problems, no mess. YMMV if you live in a hot, humid area.

I've shot hundreds (thousands) of alox lubed bullet in pistol and rifle. Don't see no reason to wipe it off. What difference does it make how it lubes the barrel when the bullet goes down it. But then I don't leave my bullets in the sand box either, so I don't worry about dirt or sand sticking to it.

Nothing worse than a nasty looking boolit (LOL)! I wipe my cast boolits down with WD40 on a cloth. Might make them a little slicker too.

I use a rag with paint thinner. To wipe down the rounds this also aford a final quality check. This also makes them less smokey when fired.

I dont store my ammo in a sand box, i just want my ammo to look good as well as shoot good, i have a sizer luber but need the top punchs and sizer dies. ill get by with the alox till then

I use lee liquid alox on my bullets. When each finished cartridge comes out of the press it goes straight into an MTM cartridge box. Never gets a chance to get dirty. No leading in any of my S & W's. I kind of like the smoke.

Never had a reason to wipe them off. They may not look so beautiful, but a bore without lead to clean is even more beautiful. Alox is some good stuff. From the loader to the plastic box and you wont need to worry about sand.

My revolver ammo is left alone. They don't need to look purdy. But, the 45 ACP rounds get fully cleaned. Too many FTF because they stick on the feed ramp.

You may want to try a 50/50 mix, Alox/Johnsons Paste wax. Clears up alot of stickiness and makes the Alox go farther.

I'm kindof new to this Alox tumble lubing. I tried it and found that it clearned up my 44 mag leading problems - so I like Alox.

I'm assuming that this paste wax is the stuff you use on cars - right? So I mix equal parts of Alox & Johnson's together and store in an airtight bottle. Do I tumble lube and let dry as usual? Does "cutting" the Alox with paste wax improve or impair the lube properties of Alox?

Johnsons Paste wax is used for cleaning hardwood floors to the best of my knowledge. If you have a Home Depot or Ace hardware they should have some in the cleaning dept. It comes in a car wax like metal container. What I do is empty a half bottle of alox into another container, take the equal amount of JPW and melt in microwave, (either with wifes permission or wait til she is gone somewhere, because you probably will need to use her measuring cup too ), pour it into the half full Alox and do the same for the other container. Some guys use a little mineral spirits - 50/40/10 = Alox/JPW/Mineral Spirits. Then tumble just like usual. Seems to dry alot better and less sticky. Go to Castboolits.com and they have a whole discussion area on lubing cast bullets..hope this helps.

I have never used the spray on Alox lubes. I still use my old reliable Star lube/sizer with the old NRA Alox & beeswax formula. The lube is in the grooves not all over the bullet.
