Anyone know of any alternatives for LEGAL online firearms selling? I have some guns here I'd like to sell but have cut ties with GunBroker for personal reasons.

Anybody?

ARMSLIST is popular, but I don't know I would use it other than for face to face purchases. I have had good luck with it with local sales / purchases. More scams than GB though.

In FL there is a statewide gun classified site, although there are a lot of scammers and time wasters on it.

GunAuction dot com

~ And I second the notion of the Classifieds here and on another gun related forum I frequent. ~

I've had zero issues buying off the classifieds here and off GB. Have heard a number of horror stories from Armslist but have never used them.

I know some smart guys that use Guns America.

Auction Arms has changed their name to GunAuction.com and if Jack the Dog still uses it it can't be all bad. (do you hear an echo) :D

Check around your area for an auction house that has occasional Gun/Sporting goods auctions. When the auction id devoted to primarily guns you will be amazed at the interest they get, and if they are on-line with Proxibid even better. They charge about 15%, but handle all the details.

Curious about the personal reasons that you cut ties with Gunbroker. I have my complaints with them but still overall happy with the experience.

Guns International .com (link that back together)

I have picked up a couple nice Smiths from this site. Cabela's and a few other big stores use the site but there are a lot of private sellers on it too.

Florida Gun Trader. Like you said, it and Armslist have a lot of scammers, jokers, and general imbeciles on them, but I've used both extensively for face to face sales and trades. I've dealt with the same people on several different occasions and we share info on who is legit and who isn't. If someone has been on the site for years, posts a phone number and is willing to send you specific pictures of a gun from requested angles/views, they are probably aboveboard. I personally like the idea of inspecting a firearm and haggling over the price and in a lot of cases learning the history behind it before buying it. I've made some really good deals on both sites, eliminating the middle man and the extra fees and taxes.

For local sales, Jason's seems to be the best here.
Like all free online content,
You need to have on your big boy pants and always use caution.

BUD's Guns online gun shop buys used guns .. I have only heard of one person that had sold theirs to them and they seemed to be happy with the price that was offered them .. I don't remember if they did sell to them or not though or if it was some type of a trade ..

A local to you gun store might sell on consignment but then FFL transfers might come into play .. The range I go to buys used and has a decent supply at times .. But think most will give you 20 to 25% less then what the guns worth .. their profit margin ..

Jack sure has really nice pictures of his "stuff"!

How does Gun Auction compare to Gun Broker?

I know only a little bit about Gun Broker. I have no "proof" but highly suspect shill bidders on auctions but have no knowledge of how to detect it. I have bought and sold a few guns there.

How can people put expensive guns up for a a penny with no reserve. They can be absolutely sure it will sell for a profit??

Thanks, gang.

Who is Jack the Dog? Is it an inside joke or something?

BTW, are you looking to sell?

As to your question about legality, GB and any other site have nothing to do with legality in firearms transfers. That's up to the buyer and seller.

What GB and Guns America do add is some vetting of members and you have the feedback to help decide how reputable someone is.

I've sold on GB. The trickiest part is finding a dealer you can trust to handle shipping.

Buying/selling on the forum presents the same challenges.

I personally prefer selling online. I don't like meeting a stranger FTF and have no idea if they can legally own a gun, unless they're comfortable showing me an LTC (and I'm not comfortable showing mine to a stranger.)
