Aluminum Frame M&P9 M2.0

One thing not mentioned in all this is S&W's long standing policy of not announcing guns until they're at distributers and ready to be sold.

I was all het up about Colt's new .22 revolver, but months after its announcement it is still nowhere to be seen.

Not picking on Colt, Ruger used to be infamous for this in the 1980's/90's.

Just another reason why I appreciate S&W quality in all aspects of manufacture.

imo this is a sign that they've recently perfected the m&p line with the newest 2.0 editions. they're moving into different materials and variations to give more options instead of focusing on improving the gun's internals and features themselves.

The sear is supposed to be a bit better than the previous iteration.

Well, I went to check out that metal M&P this morning. I was considering buying it (and figuring out how to pay for it later :) )

Didn't like it. The texturing on the black part is too aggressive for me. And no, I'm not really interested in sanding it down. I've down that on a few guns in the past. The trigger was also heavier than I would have liked.

I have two Performance Center Shield Pluses, and their triggers are less than 3.5pounds. I guess I am spoiled by that.

I also looked at a BUL 1911, a Walther PDP and a Glock 34 sized Shadow Systems gun with a comp on it. None of them did it for me.

It seems all I like right now are the two Performance Center Shield Pluses I have, and my TTI Combat Master. I can't wait for my 2nd Glock 19 Combat Master to arrive sometimes around Feb or so. The texturing and trigger they do are just perfect.

Anyway, disappointed, because I thought I'd be coming home with a new gun... But, oh well. I thought it looked very sweet, but not for me...

Picked one up and swapped out the backstrap with a less aggressive one. I really like the look and weight. Can't wait to shoot it.

I am tempted so maybe will get one as soon I come across one. Be nice to pair it with my favorite, Browning Hipower and AL framed smith. Only thing I wished they change on the the new pistol is that poly trigger as they should had made it metal also.

Well I'm an old fashioned guy and I'm gonna stick with plastic for my M&P's until I see how this new fangled aluminum nonsense works out. If Aluminum was so good why didn't they make Glocks and the original M&P's in it.
GUn market is slowig...this just gives the consumer another reason to buy another gun. Kinda like diet coke and coke zero. All it does is give coke more shelf space at the expense of pepsi.
What I am waiting for is an M&P 380 10 shot-like the RUger LCP plus

Shot it yesterday at the range...While it shot and felt great, I did not feel the aluminum frame helped mitigate recoil as I had expected. Recoil seemed the same as my 1.0 and 2.0 compact. I am definitely happy with the trigger and see no need for any APEX upgrades. I felt the APEX kits were required for my previous M&Ps - just not a fan of the hinged trigger. Overall, I am satisfied with the pistol and look forward to the next variant!

I'm definitely intrigued by the Metal. I recently acquired a Sig AXG. The difference in the recoil impulse is noticeable from the polymer frame 320. It's custom trigger is amazing.
It had me wondering if and when we might see a Performance Center version of the Metal. What do you think?
To end on a note of loyalty, my Performance Center Shield 2.0 is my best shooter when it comes to consistentcy and accuracy!

Yes! I really like my Bodyguard but a slightly bigger higher capacity version would be mine.

As for this new gun, if I want striker it's plastic. If I want hammer it's metal. The Kahr K9 was the exception. $900 for an M&P? No thanks. And I HATE the two tone look. Why couldn't they just make it black?

I tried the CSX which is supposed to be single action. It is worse than the M&P 2.0 DA triggers. That was a miserable fail. Hopefully this new one will have a good trigger.

Rosewood

I finally got to shoot a CSX. I thought I would like it but....that trigger leaves so much to be desired.

It will not be on my "buy" list in it's current iteration.

The pistol is a great idea, poorly executed.

Because gray is the new black (this thread made me buy one :) ):

The top two are Caniks, the middle one is an S&W SW9V, the value model of the then new Sigma from the mid-90's - I don't think the gray frame lasted long back then.

I hate colored guns. Black or stainless. Even two tone I hate. Black controls on a stainless gun. I'll pass.

I'm just the opposite… a blue over stainless or satin nickel semi auto seems real attractive to my eyes. There is a saying from my generation there is a saying, "Different strokes for different folks." This seems to be a case that proves the saying!

Bought one yesterday and going to the range @9 45am today. Looking forward to shooting this gun today with my son-in-law and grandson. I was caught by the look and having no complaints with my other M&P's thought why not.

That's Great. Thanks for your input. I had the kimber Micro 9. I believe it has a metal frame. That pistol shot very well.
Fingers crossed the MP metal comes out in 10mm. I want a metal framed 10mm.
I'm a little picky.
Maybe a lil crazy too.

I will change the sights...
To what? May I have the old ones? :)

I just noticed that even though it is optic ready, it doesn't have the super tall co-witness sights like the M&P 10mm and other optic ready models.
Replaced mine with Trijicon sights made for the C.O.R.E. and there's only one model for all calibers so the front to rear sight height ratio should be correct, and Trijicon now lists that they're for the M&P 2.0 Metal too.

Mepro Tru Dot for the C.O.R.E. Yes it is optic ready but honestly not a fan of the DOTs...YET
