Always Check The Boxes

I always check ammo boxes at estate sales. A friend told me he checked a box and each end was full. He bought it and when he got home he pulled the inside box completely out and the center was empty. A few months ago I checked a box and it was full but I looked real close and there were 2 brands in the box so I didn't bid. There are crooks that know tricks that some of us have never thought of and it's impossible too catch everything and sometimes we get burnt even when we do our best. Larry

Was in Wally this morning to get some BB's and CO2 cartridges for my newly ordered BB gun. One box of CO2 cartridges felt light and looked tampered with. Opened it and it contained 11 instead of 15. I HATE thieves.......I wish Leprosy would make their fingers fall off.

20+ years ago I got a Bunn coffee maker for Christmas, but inside was a used Mr. Coffee! My Mother-in-law still had the receipt, so I took it back. Three weeks later a neighbor bought a new Bunn, and guess what, it had a used Mr. Coffee inside. So now when I return defective merchandise, I use a marker and draw a line through the bar code! (I would want the whole store to be Lepers!)

Before retiring I worked for a short time at Wally's in the automotive and sporting goods areas. I can say that their return policy is absolutely ridiculous. I was called up front once to "take a look" at a 5 qt. jug of oil being returned. It was obvious it had been opened and inside I found 5 qts. of smelly used oil. The customer demanded to see a manager so I left. Later I found that same jug of oil sitting on my counter waiting to be put back on the shelf. Sadly that was not an isolated incident.

People will buy new, and return the old junk they are replacing. Buyer beware, especially at big box stores. The returns go directly back on the shelf.

About a year ag bought some crackers at WM. Got home and the box was sealed but every sleeve of crackers was open on one end. Took them back to WM and guess what next trip found them back on the shelf. Went somewhere else for crackers for a while.

Last week looking for a cheaper scope for my 10/22 carbine-was at Wal Mart looking at a Simmons 3x9 with AO and the package was open with the mounts and whatever else came with the scope missing.
