Always Had A fondness For These….

Always liked mine...they do have a very "businesslike" look to them.

I picked up one recently as well, really like it. Like a J frame that starts with a 4!

Pic is not my gun, just a pic I liked.

And even better that it's stainless!! I love the vintage Charter revolvers. Don't see many of those for sale anymore. Enjoy.

I have its twin. Not a gun you’re going to run a hundred rounds per range trip. It’s a niche pistol and fills that niche well.

I have an older one, blued with a three inch barrel. Added pachmayrs grips. IT is still the hardest recoiling revolver I have . (factory 246gr cartridges)

Nice looking revolver. I have a couple CA revolvers currently, a .44, and a .22lr. Last weekend I nearly bought a Bridgeport .38 Undercover. It was an oldie with a 4 digit serial number and the “Tree of Liberty” stocks. I was just a little short on cash. The dealer has had it for awhile so he may have it the next show.
The .44s really jump when you light them off.

Mine wears Pachmayrs. Skeeter Skelton wrote that his favorite 44 Special load of a 240 SWC over 7.5 grains of Unique kicked too much.

Another (sort of) interesting story from my early days working at the local gun shop. As it happens, a .44 spl Bulldog was my personal very first centerfire handgun. The little shop was just getting started and the selection was very limited, but that little Bulldog fit my smallish hand so well, on a whim I bought it. Well, it wasn't too much after that the infamous Son of Sam murders were in the news, and they determined early on that he was using a .44 Bulldog. I was working the store with the owner on the day a Sheriff Deputy stopped in to make an official inquiry. Have we sold any Charter Arms Bulldogs? Yessir we sure have. He got interested right quick. Okay then, can you check your records and tell me who bought it? No need to check, says my boss, then jerks his thumb at me. He bought it. Want me to hold him while you cuff him?

Awesome design but junky quality. These are just not durable revolvers.

I’ve always wished somebody could clone the design with better metallurgy and QC.

What does these go for ?
curious $$

I am a member of the Charter Arms club but so far the right Bulldog .44 has eluded me.

I’ve always liked them myself. Purchased one back in 2010 and while it doesn’t see the warmer handloads that my S&W 24-3 does, it works well. Have prob put 600-700 rounds thru mine with zero issues. Sure wish they still cost what they did back in 2010.
