Am I the only guy who buys roses for their Wife on a regular basis?

My wife's birthday and our Anniversary are this month. I usually hunt around for some appropriate gift and some flowers.

Last week she replaced the kitchen stove, refrigerator, and microwave with new stainless.

I think I may be off the hook this year.

We have a cat that tries to eat EVERY flower that comes into the house, since doesn't happen much. He's why we can't have nice things. Lol

I try to buy LF blue carnations once each month. She likes them and never fails to say thank you. I know they wilt! But don't everything!

I bought Mrs. Buff roses for her birthday, our anniversary and Valentines Day for the 27 years we were married. On the night of our 28th anniversary, I threw her out of the house and we got divorced. I don't bring her flowers any more.

Now, a couple of times a week, usually on Monday and Friday afternoons, on the way home from the trap club, I hit the cemetery.

That's sad. (but funny as well)
They busted a guy in my area in a cheap motel room with several graveyard headstones he took but we never learn the reason why. :)

I bring my wife flowers all the time. Usually seasonal stuff and not roses too often. I also write her poetry for all the biggie occasions. Small gestures go a long way.

Today I was in the grocery store, as I am almost every day, and noticed their floral shop had roses $6 for a dozen. I'm on that deal!:D I'm on a first name basis with the ladies who work there, because I buy them for The Lovely Missus P&R Fan on a regular basis, just because. I asked one of the ladies if the guys were jumping on that deal. She said mostly women are buying them......for themselves. Why aren't the guys all over that deal? Six bucks and it will reap some nice rewards, if you get my drift.;)
What I want to know is am I the only guy out there who regularly buys his Wife flowers, and not just on the days when he is supposed to? It ain't expensive. Tell me I'm not alone.
Jim

You are probably not alone, but I surely do not buy flowers on a regular basis.

One, there is no 'florist' section in the grocery store. Two, if I were it would have to be something other than roses, because the wife isn't a rose fan.

Lastly, the nearest place to get flowers is at least 25 miles away. Which means going to get flowers is 1 1/2 hour trip.

I guess I'd do it more if I was stuck in a city and went to the grocery store almost daily. Then again, I'd likely eat a bullet if I was in a grocery store on a daily basis.

I do pick the wife flowers that I plant and grow in the yard our find 'around'.

I bring the wife roses for Valentines and our anniversary. Wife says she really does't want flowers but I think if I stopped that wouldn't be a good idea. ;)

Otherwise, I don't bring the wife flowers. All that would do is create suspicion in her mind that I've done something wrong. Being the thoughtful and loving husband that I am, I don't want to bring her such distress. :D

My much better half worked as a florist for about ten years. Rose are way down on her list of favorite flowers because they only last a few days in a vase. So it has been years since I bought her any roses. She prefers live orchids because they last, even if poorly kept.

The last time I bought any roses wasn't for her. It was over ten years ago for this photo of her for an ad for wedding dress shop (we had been married over 20 years when this photo was done)

Yeah, The times when I'm found guilty....
Yeah, I hear ya. Went through a period in the '90s... spent a lotta nights out late... worked weekends ... lotta stuff going on... supplied the roses with regularity to my missus.

Finally, she lost her temper about the roses. "Don't give me any more roses! I am tired of 'em!"

Ouch!

20 years on, things are more relaxed. I stay away from roses, still, but take her out for lunch, shopping, whatever, with regularity.

Hey Bill,

Either you got lucky or you are full of you know what.
Although it could have been a big bank account. :)

The lady gets bouquets of flowers occasionally for no special reason other than she has put up with my sorry self for 29 years. I have them delivered because I'm no longer allowed to go to the grocery store (even supervised). Has something to do with verbally expressing myself about stupid people. But I digress, sorry. Anyway, she also gets flowers on all the commerce driven occasions and when we are having guests for a gathering. The other things I get her through out the year are what I refer to as incidentals. The jewelry shopping last year while on a cruise is another story. hardcase60

I cut them out of the median strip and bring them home! Save the money for more ammo!
