Just picked up a 380 Ruger LCP and was just wondering if anyone has one and what kind of ammo you would suggest. Thanks
I agree with this statement, FWIW. I would carry ball ammo in a .380 if I were to carry a .380. For reliable function and penetration.Stay away from hollow points, the 380 doesn't get high enough velocity to reliably open them from the short barrels.
I have used Winchester White box (flat nose FMJ) with 100% reliability and good accuracy, and the new Hornady Critical Defense has excellent reviews. About any FMJ will give good penetration.
Mine is surprisingly accurate, when I can see the sights. It is intended for short distances, and mine will put them in a 3" or less spot from 10 yards.
Firehouse,
IIRC, it was either our own Erich or Flop Shank(?) that near tore the snot out of a Kel-Tek(?) with the B/B stuff? In fact, I think there's a thread currently running near the top of the ammo area about it. I know nothing about the load, but there were several discussing it there that seemed to know their onions!
