Ammo Rationing

Don't go crazy. Buy gradually and a little more than you use each time you buy. This way you'll accumulate an inventory and you will have been able to spread/average the cost - some you will have paid high, others you will have paid low.

In my local Walmart, all the bulk ammo, including the 22LR is gone, and the shelf has been bare for over a week. Seemed to be an adequate amount of non military caliber hunting stuff, however.

I tried to order some extra 10/22 mags recently - just the standard factory 10-rounders. Cabelas and the Ruger Store were back ordered. Midway was rationing two per customer. I got two and am glad I did. I checked the site again yesterday and they were now backordered. Even the factory 5-rounders are back ordered. Tech Sights for 10/22s are also back ordered. I wonder if everyone is trying to build a Liberty Training Rifle for Appleseed.

My local gun range had some 20-round AR mags and the prices hadn't gone up drastically - yet.

As bad as things are now, I'm waiting to see how bad it gets depending on what Biden's "commission" recommends this coming Tuesday.

My Walmart here in central Texas has been out for weeks but our Academy Sporting Goods has just put a 2 box limit on all .223, 9mm, .40 cal, and .45 caliber, they also put a 1 per person limit on AR mags.

So how are they tracking this??? Just by memory of who bought what?

If you take more to the register then their limit they may not let you have it. If you go out and come back in, and they remember you then they may not sell it to you. But I guess it depends on the cashier. Rules can be broken or take a friend. I saw it at a b f sale one time I went had a limit but didn't stick to it.

All stores by me have a 6 box limit. Kinda silly that is can be 6 boxes of 20 or 6 cases of 420. Not that it matters, they are all sold out at the moment. The limit is also per type, so you can get 6 boxes of 223, 6 boxes or 9mm and 6 boxes of .308 at the same time if you want.

That is the same as the west Phoenix WM. I think the sign went
up last week.

No limit at any of the 7 or so Wally Worlds I regular, but no need as there hasn't been any ammo(that I use) for weeks.

Today at my local walmart they r rationing ammo 1 box of ammo per day per customer! Don't know if they all r

I think they should have some kind of limit,Some folks are buying everything they as soon as they stock the shelf and a high percentage of it ends up at gun shows marked up 2 or 3 times sometimes more.

I don't like limits. However, my local Gander got a shipment of 5.56 cases and two guys came in with moving dollies. They were there before the open and cleared the place out. No doubt all of it was going to be on gun broker that afternoon.

This is exactly why they have do to this...unfortunate. This is also contributing to the crazy supply and demand issue.

I have no problems with them doing this with local stores. I think someone pillages the walmarts near my area since there is NEVER any bulk ammo.
