Ammo suggestions

man i get tired after 200 rds. :p

My normal shoot is 325 through the 15-22 and another 100-150 through one of my .22 pistols.

Today I didn't take the 15-22, but went through 150 rounds of .22 in the Ruger SR22P, close to 100 rounds of .40 S&W and 100 rounds or so of 9mm.

I try to shoot that much .40 and 9mm through my carry guns at least once a month.

+1 Ruger SR22P

This is a cool little pistol - and it's nice to share ammo with the 15-22 :D

I have three other .22 pistols, a S&W M34, a Match Ruger MkII and a High Standard match, but this is the one I pull out when I just want to have some fun punching cans. And it has a very nice 3.5 pound SA trigger, too.

i usually run about 1-200 rds through the 15-22. i have 4 mags pre-loaded so just depends if i have the time to reload. now that i added the 1911 .22 i put 100 rds through that too. since i go about once a week, i usually take at least 1 of my xd9's every other week to run 50 rds through.

Update for the fourm, made trip to the range and spent 400+ rounds of Winchester X-22, overall worked very weel but did have two fail to feed. I can't tell you if it was the amom or if maybe the mags didn't get the proper alternations when they were loaded.

Again only two feed issues in over 400 rounds today.

Just my old-fart opinion, but folks get too worked up over a couple of feed failures in a whole big box of relatively cheap ammo. :)

+1 for CCI mini mags.

My 15-22 and M&P22 both love them (both RN and HPs) The M&P gets them exclusively as it seems to be slightly more picky. I will use federal bulk in the 15-22 with very good results (so far) when I am shooting for quantity as opposed to quality!

im glad ive had a couple failures in my 15-22 and a handful in my 1911 .22. it helps keep me on my feet and gives me practice dealing with them in a situation before it really counts for something.

yup ive never had issues with my xd's and i dont practice drills as often as i should so it was actually a pleasure when i did have some with my .22s. :)

Just don't let Majorlk know if you try Winchester WildCats.

I know that the WWs are not recomended - but because I have so many around I tried them anyway. They worked fine for me. No jams or problems.

New member here, and I was in the same position as the OP a few weeks back having just bought my 15-22. Most of the reviews I read on the matter seemed to have recommended the brands thrown about here, but I tended to notice that the CCI Minimags seemed to end up most of the reviewers of the weapons #1 choice, so I went with that.

So far I have taken my 15/22 out twice putting 300 rounds through it (hey also was shooting my AR-15 and handgun as well :P) and have had just one misfeed. For a .22lr that really is pretty darned good.

mini-mags are great but you can also try out cci blazer and federal bulk for some reliable, cheaper options.
