Ammo Thread Scores

Just now was able to order two more 500 rd. bricks of CCI Blazers. These have always given excellent results in my pistol, revolver and rifles. Very thankful in the extreme for links provided that have made it possible to find this ammo at Cabelas.

One thing that has proved helpful. Fill your shopping cart with the items you want. Save that page. Now go back periodically and call up that page. Hit the checkout button. You will be able to then buy whatever is in stock. This is how it was possible for me to just now order the Blazer ammo. HTH. Sincerely. brucev.

Just ordered some Blazer as well, but would only allow one. It threw out the 2nd brick... oh well.

EDIT - and now cancelled. :( Something about Blazers, I've had all 3 Blazer orders cancelled by Cabelas the past couple weeks.

1 of 21-8827 CCI BLAZER .22 AMMO 22LR 40GR LRN /500
Cancel-Sldout fr season

EDIT 2 - And now showing available for order again lol. What a mess their system is.

Thanks to the ammo thread, I've been able to buy four of the Federal Champion 350 cans. Plus the couple hundred Blazers from the LGS, and I'm fairly happy.

Well my 2 other Big C orders that were supposed to be delivered yesterday (Thur and Fri of last week, but snow happened) were delayed again. Supposed to be delivered today now. We will see.

I did trade a scope for these around Christmas time.

My order of blazer and cci tactical came in. The tactical's had an order of mini mags and blazer with it, but Big C cancelled those 2 since they were 2 in one day. They shipped the tactical's. If i would have caught it quicker i would have cancelled the tactical's because after shipping the one box was right at $.09 per round, too high for me. Still have one order of blazer's due tomorrow.

I have to admit, I do not like the new 300rd packaging. The tray inside is nice, but cost's more than just loosed in box. They should have kept the 375 box.

Unless the tactical's or mini mags are in stock with something like the federal bulk or M22, I think I may be done ordering them. I may just hold out till the M22 or the Federal 525's come back in stock more regularly.

My Blazers came in from Cabelas a couple days ago. Looks like the shopping cart trick worked, even though the main site was saying "sold out".

Yep, looks like you got away with one. Had I known I would have ordered more of the Tactical, dangit ;)

Cabelas is certainly all over the map - as mentioned before I'm about 50/50 on getting actual orders... But I'll keep trying.

Looking again, my last two orders have been cancelled, including the above, so that's 8 out of 12 orders for 22LR cancelled by Cabela's over the past 6 weeks or so. Of the four that did "go through", 2 shipped, one is backordered till July, and one (today's order) is still processing but I expect it to be backordered as well. So it's more like 20-25%, not 50/50 :(

There is definitely room for improvement with their system. But I guess it's better than Walmart getting ammo once every two months, or paying 4x the price at the only crappy lgs that has any 22, or dealing with gun show prices... Silver Lining and all.

I have gotten some orders filled from PSA and Adventure Outdoors and GM of all places (and a stroke of luck at the local Walmart), so have been able to build up a small inventory at least.

Not really a score from the Ammo Thread, but I walked in to my local retailer and picked up two of the plastic ammo boxes of Winchester M22. 2000 rounds per box with a limit of 2 boxes.

In one transaction 4000 .22 rounds, with the plastic boxes as a nice bonus.

They still had many boxes of 500 Remington Golden Bullets, and Winchester 555 Bulk packs.

Generally speaking their prices are about 1/3 to 1/2 higher than before the recent stupidity. A bulk pack of .22 that previously was in the $17 range is now about $24. this pricing trend seems to run across all calibers and gauges. This pricing level is absolutely the maximum of what I will pay. A few months ago I flat ran out of 9mm, but now 9mm is readily available, at the slightly inflated prices.

Time to concentrate on buying 9mm, i'm down to 600 rounds of range ammo. Shotgun shells are good with 1000 in boxes and components to reload another 3000.

OK, last two orders cancelled - so out of 13, 2 shipped, 1 backordered until July :(. The old "Shopping Cart stock" routine never works out for me - I only seem to get a shipment when it actually shows in stock on ammo pages. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong :(

I never even get an order placed with the Shopping Cart routine. It always says Out of Stock and empties my Wish List. I have received Blazers and Choot 'Ems that were in stock at 3:00-4:00 in the morning during the past two weeks. And the Walmart app shows Mini-Mags in stock at our local store, but that is 56 miles away so someone else will get them this time. I like to repackage bulk into the plastic boxes with divider trays in them, but have you noticed that the empty trays on eBay are selling for as much or more than the actual ammo cost. It's a crazy world!

I've had all good luck (so far) with Cabelas with the shopping cart routine. I have an order in process, 2,000 rounds of CCI Blazer and 2 boxes CCI AR Tactical. The order in process is expected to ship by 2/17 but it usually ships much earlier. Due to the blizzard, I probably won't get it too quick. Most, if not all, due to the ammo thread and whomever first mentioned the Cabela shopping cart routine.

It has worked for me 3 out of 3 orders. I wonder if they keep cancelling yours due to you trying to order more than one box? All three of my orders have been for one item each time.

All of mine were for one box, or brick, etc - except for one order of CCI Tacticals, and the only reason I ordered more than one then is b/c of rgkitchen posting that he was able to order 4 boxes so I figured I would try it. But 12/13 were single item orders.

I probably shouldn't sing the woe is me song too loud, I've been able to get plenty from other thread sources like Natchez, PDA, Aventure Outdoors, etc - just for some reason Cabela's doesn't seem to work for me as well as it seems to for others

EDIT - most recent order cancelled as well, sold out for season. I guarantee they will be up again sometime today or tomorrow though - I think I'm about done with Cabelas...

Picked up my 3 boxes of Blazers yesterday at Cabela's..

So that puts me at 3 Blazers
3 Bucket-O-Bullets in 2 weeks

So good on .22lr for a few weeks again

:D

I am at a point that I have stopped ordering 22lr. I am wallet poor and ammo rich, 10k plus 22lr in 2014. Have faith people. BiggB

Same here. Unless the M22 or the Federal 2,100rd cans come back in at decent prices, I'm done.

I won't be shooting much anyways with a new baby coming in March.

So far, my three Cabela's orders are on track. They have all been charged to my credit card and all show as shipping. I called my local Cabela's and asked them to check on their status, and they all say in route.

4 - CCI Tactical 300 rounds (.22LR)
2 - Hornady Critical Defense 25 rounds (9mm)
2 - Blazer Bronze 50 rounds (9mm)
1 - Blazer Bulk 500 rounds (.22LR)

Once they arrive, my ammo stash will sit at 4,450 rounds .22LR, 1,100 rounds .22Mag, and 800 rounds 9mm - not counting the mags I have already loaded (279 rounds .22LR and 195 rounds 9mm).

Now you need to add some 223/556 to that stash!

I currently don't have anything that would use .223/5.56, and my lastest ammo purchases have put a little strain on my marital relations.

Back when ammo could be found on the shelves, I restricted myself to one .22 bulk pack every two months, two 50 round boxes of .22Mag a month, and two 50 round boxes of 9mm a month. Now that I carry daily, I've added the 25 round defensive 9mm boxes to my shopping list. Besides my Cabela's order from this forum, I can usually get my 9mm at my local gun shop. I scored two 100 round Winchester 9mm boxes at Wal-Mart the other day.

That was my point. Fix that! Haha. As it is, some places have 223 cheaper than 22. Don't know how this is happening, but my AR is starting to look like it's going to be cheaper and easier to shoot.

Not a score from the ammo thread, but went to Walmart this morning as the app and findmeammo.com were showing that they had Federal 550 in stock. Well, too late for those, but I did pick up two bricks of Blazer.

Looks like the new normal price is $28.48 per 500 for Blazer in my area. Surprised that Cabela's online with ship to store is cheaper, but I'll pay the extra $.50 to have it today. :D
