Ammo

If you meant Cabelas, then I have and haven't had any issues.
I placed an order with Cabela's back on 12/31 for Remington UMC Value Pack .223, 55gr. (400rds) W/dry box for $159.99. Expected delivery is around 1/25. :D ...... I have had no problems in the past with back orders from Cabela's.

On CNN today they had few Police departments coming out and saying due to civilian sales they will have to start rationing ammo to officers in the next few months.[/QUOTE]

I have great respect for police officers, but as a retired member of the military it has always goaded me to hear "civilian" police talk about civilians.:)

Grover, Thanks, looks like it would good time to get into reloading! At least enough to replenish the ammo I have so i can go to the range once in a while.. I hope all this s--t hitting the fan don't get to ugly. I still don't understand how us as in "we the people" were willing to dig a deeper hole for our selves for another 4 years . I mean I just don't believe it still! George

I just went to PSA and they had several cases of Winchester 45grn frangible 5.56 NATO. I picked up 4 boxes not wanting to get a case of ammo I've never fired before. I am just curious how this ammo performs before I go back and get a case on Monday. So let me know if you shot it before.

the frangible ammo completely comes apart when it hits the smallest thing. I have shot some of it PDog hunting. I like it, it is a little slower than my normal ammo but under 100 yards it should hold the same zero as just about anything. It is a great self-defense round, as soon as it hits sheet rock it breaks up into a lot of tiny pieces and the same when hunting varmints....you just have to shoot it and see how it performs for you.

Other than shooting a few reloads, firing 556 isn't going to happen much for me because I won't burn ammo out of my stash (at this point) as its to dang expensive and rare to resupply. That is what the 15/22 is for. ;) Hopefully the 556 shortage will end soon...

I did shoot some of the frangibles today at the indoor range as well as some 69grn HP. I think both shot well but that's at max distance of 24 yards. I've got to say I love my M&P 15A.

Check around Fort Knox riderrick. Seems that the Wal-Marts around post are getting more of the ammo as they know the demand from us. I know here another truck is scheduled for Tuesday but they couldnt tell me how many would be coming in but best believe I will try and be there. Wal-Mart is always good about trying to keep up things they know the military world wants or needs in order to compete with the Commissary and PX
Hey there airborne infantry vet, just scored some Independence 5.56 55gr. FMJBT from Cabela's @ $9.99 a box (10 boxes=200 rds.), ordered on the 12th will be here on the 16th :D ...... Also have the Remington UMC Value Pack .223 55gr. W/dry box (400rds.) on BO, which they say will be shipped around the 25th :) ..... Now that I have the ammo coming, I just need the parts that make it go bang:rolleyes:

Cheapest around here I was able to find is 100rnds of American eagle for $108.50.... Yeah tactical bacon is staying in the case for a while....

I went into gander mountain in Forest Lake MN. on Monday morning and found that they were very well stocked up on just about everything except 22 and 223. They did have some 22 and the had about 20 boxes of american eagle 223 for $9.99 a box.
They also had independence 5.56 for $11.99 a box.I bought a hundred rounds of the american eagle at $9.99 a box. That is the most I am willing to pay for this ammo.Got some of the independence at Cabela's for $9.99.Prices around here are all over the place. A month ago I was paying $6.99 for PMC at Cabela's. I think some of the bigger retailers are the people to do business with right now.It was good to see the ammo shelves
so full.
