And now, a revolver thats REALLY different.

That's one gun I wouldn't mind throwing at a bad guy...and hope he didn't throw it back.

I had one and sold it. The barrel firing from the bottom of the cylinder makes for a crazy low bore axis and no flip. The ugly could be an advantage. You can leave it on the seat of your car with the windows down and it will still be there when you got back.

I have a 2" WHITE RHINO (brushed nickle), the fit and finish is EXCELLENT.

Mine is a DA/SA, they are also available DAO.

They may look GOOFY to some, but when you hold it, it just feels like it belongs in your hand.

The barrel being on the bottom lines up the forces straight through your arm.

You can shoot 357's all day long or as long as your wallet holds up and NOT get worn out.

My fellow instructors enjoy firing it.

Member ERICH enjoys his also.

My 2" came with a Very Nice Italian Leather holster.(included):)

Yeah, search here on Rhino and you can see mine and read about it. :)

The "hammer" is actually a cocking lever - you can shoot the gun with your thumb on it (though you'd occlude the rear sight in doing so) - the hammer is internal.

Occlude????????????????????
That's kinda like hearing some maritime lawyers talking about Bumbershoot policies or finding out to my great chagrin in Federal Court on motion day that when the barge is pushed into the bridge by my client's tug boat it is referred to as an allision and not a collision....Well EXCUUUUUUUUSSSSSE ME

Why is it that whenever a truly new, intelligent, firearm design comes out, people go out of their way to say it's ugly?

We've been taught for years to get our hand as high as we can in the grip to help control recoil. It has been said many times that if the barrel could be put in line with the forearm, it would be better. Now that someone actually comes up with the proper design, all people can do is bad mouth it?

I would love to get my hands on one of these. Anyone know where I can get one?

I posted about these a couple of years ago.

I was working as an S.O. for an IDPA match that was a couple of weeks before the national match.

A couple of teams from Italy were there to use the match as a warm up before the national. Most of these guys were using revolvers (and were VERY good with them).

One shooter ran through the stage and after he shot the primary S.O. halted everthing so we could look at the odd revolvers he was using. One of the shooters teammates told us it was a Chiappa Rhino.

Odd looking, but it seemed to work well.

Yeah, but this one can cook . . . ;)

Seriously, the 23-ounce snub Rhino has less muzzle rise than does the c.40-oz 4" GP-100, shot side to side with the same full-house 158-gr .357 Magnum loadings.

I tested one for I think it was COMBAT HANDGUNS magazine several months ago. It was a 4" adjustable sighted model with an auxilliary 9mm Luger cylinder. I concur that it's ugly as sin, but grows on you and is an excellent performer. The low bore-axis greatly reduces felt recoil and muzzle flip making full-throttle .357 Magnum loads feel like .38 Special stuff.

I'm glad you like yours...to each man his own...but when I looked at one in my LGS, there was nothing I liked about it. I didn't shoot it, of course, but there was no appeal to me, not in the way it looked or felt in my hand. I don't remember the trigger as being anything to write home about either, but its been a while, and maybe I am not remembering that part correctly.

For me, handguns are more than just tools...they have to have some aesthetic appeal as well. Long guns don't really matter to me...those are tools, IMO. A handgun is much more personal.

This is a very biased crowd. If it is not a blued prelock revolver pinned with no mim parts or a 1911, well it just isn't "proper":D;)

It's not for me, but I think it is kinda cool or innovative. I do not like engraving on guns, some folks go nuts over it. The gun is bigger in person also.

And if I recall the 22 LR mentioned above is not made by them, It is just another GSG product that goes under several names including Sig.
