Thanks.

+1 - Oh, and when you walk away...limp just a little bit.

Just wanted to add that I just got an ankle glove this week for my M60. I've been wearing this for the last couple of days. It took about a half a day to get used to it, the rest of the time I seldom knew it was there. This is without the calf strap and the 19 oz. M60. It stays in place with no problem. This is a great holster, I hate to tip the scales.

Cheers,
Sam

C'mon the rest of you Renegade guys...where are you? The Galco is ahead 5-4.

In the past, I posted Renegade every time the question got asked. I'm wearing mine tomorrow. I thought people got tired of reading the same old post every time. Renegade is clearly the best ankle holster. I have danced with an Airweight in mine, and running is certainly not a problem. I also have one for Colt D frames, also works fine.

You absolutely CAN'T go wrong with a Renegade. I love mine so much that I bought a replacement just in case by some freak of nature I am able to wear mine out so I don't have to wait for another one to be made.

Hah! I did that, too, but I didn't write about because I figured y'all would think I was crazy. I only bought a spare for my J's, though. The one for my Colts still looks new.

Rick, you really need to sell that Alessi to me!! He's right, never used a renegade but Lou's is top and the Kramers not bad. I have a brand new Milt Sparks still in package that hasn't been made for like twenty years which is similar to the Alessi.

They're all top notch...the only reason I went with Renegade is I wear straight leg jeans most of the time and it is the only one that doesn't print due to the unmolded design...

I use an Uncle Mike's nylon ankle holster for my 442. You can use the strap as a thumb break, or just rip the velcro off on the draw. It's less expensive than the others, holds up well (mine is 10 years old), and is easy to clean if it gets dirty. All of the others are good, I've actually used the Galco in the past, but this is another less expensive option.

Will a 2 1/8" j frame fit the Renegade holster?

The reason I ask is because I tried a regular 1 7/8" holster for the powerport and it would not fit because of the barrel.

I know the OP already bought his holster, but in case anybody else is wondering about the same topic I'd add two words:

Lou Alessi....if you can find one. R,

Anyone have tried the Bulldog holster? Looks similar in design to the Renegade, and much cheaper.

Bulldog Pro Series Ankle Holster

My Renegade has a very secure strap that allows you to pull through to draw the weapon.

Something like that velcro strap on the Bulldog, which requires a seperate movement to rip up then grab the gun is not something I'd want want for any self defense rig.
