Annoying license plates

I like vanity plates. I dont' have them anymore, but at one time I had this one on my BMW K-1200LT motorcycle.

My Ex-Wife had "PLEZ-MOM" on her Firebird at one time.

Back in my bass tournament fishing days, I had "SLIDR RIG" on my truck (a type of bass lure), and still have "LRZD RIG" on my boat trailer.

I used to own a shortened VW micro bus. If you think of a VW bus as three segments, front, middle, and rear, you will see that there is little need for the middle part. My bus had a 47" wheelbase and wheelie bars. My personalized plates read "NANOBUS." Few people got it. I loved it.

Some of my favorites

My BMW
My Benz
My Stang
My "anything"

Does one really need to pay extra(in NY anyways)to tell the guy behind you it's "your" car? I think I can read the tag on the trunk that says Mercedes.

My '74 VW Type 181 had 217 LTY, until I moved to Idaho, now it's 2O 34410. (That's an "oh" after the 2, not a zero.)

Speaking of license plates, do you know it's possible to sit at a busy intersection in Tucson in December and not see a single Arizona license plate? There from Sonora all the way to British Columbia and Alaska. If I actually lived there I don't think I'd like it, first the students show up, then the snow bunnies. I'll have to check it out in the summer some time.

I had a friend that had YGTBSM. Every time somebody asked him what it was he replied, "You've got to be ******** me."

The only personalized tag I ever had was on my old 78 Mercury bobcat. It said "ANOPNTO"

IDRVFAST on a 22 year old's red Porche.... He probably doesn't have a clue why he never gets a 'warning ticket'.

In this state, it is considered a kind of status symbol to have a low number on your plate. 3-digit plates are rare, and are generally passed down to other family members. No one in my family was ever rich, or had any of that uppity status. My Great uncle Bill, of whom I have spoken here before, was a WW II vet, (all the status a man needs!) and he got this plate issued without asking for it back in 1960. I restored the Willy's Jeep, and I won't be giving up this plate anytime soon!
