About 3 years ago I bought a police trade in 65-3 4" square butt for $225. I really wanted a 3" but they are hard to find and usually 3x the price of what I paid for this one. After hearing about gunsmith Karl Sokol and seeing his work I emailed him with a list of what I wanted done and responded right back. I sent the gun and told him to take his time as I was in no hurry. Out of the blue he emailed the other day and said it was done, I had really forgotten about it. I was extremely impressed with the work done. Here's what he did, cut barrel back to 3" and counter sunk the muzzle, bobbed the hammer, converted from square butt to round butt, trigger job, installed big dot night sight, opened rear sight channel in the shape of a "U" for the new front sight, chamfer cylinder holes, all new screws and bead blasted. I have 2 sets of grips , the VZ's in the picture and a smaller "Undercover" set. Now off to find a good IWB holster .

WOW! Nice work!! I really like the satin finish, and the other modifications!!!!

Wow, beautiful gun, nice project that is going to be a really nice carry gun. I am looking for another 65 3", might have to look into this option

There've been a few examples of Mr. Sokol's work shown on the forum in recent years and they all look superb. Enjoy. ;)

This thread needs more pics so we can see the rear sight work, etc.

I'm not having much luck getting good pics of the rear site channel. I will try for more pics later in the day. Here is the best I could do for now.
