ANOTHER ASSASINATION TRY ON TRUMP

Everyone knows that a trained sniper never shows any part of himself or his weapon or any reflection from the glass in the scope. Shooter broke all the rules. A barrel sticking through the fence! I would suggest that the agent that engaged the shooter was former special forces or Marine sniper. We shall see!

And then there was the botched JFK autopsy performed by some military doctors who had never before performed an autopsy. By law, it should have been done by the Dallas County medical examiner who probably did gunshot death autopsies every day. But that could not be allowed to happen.

Saw SS press conference on TV. They bragged they had done their job.

It was sick.

Maybe if they had done their job at Butler, this would have never happened.

At the press conference, they did say the perp never saw Trump, nor got off any shots at him.

Question, why did the SS agent not hit this guy?He just " shot at him"? Oh, excuse me, probably from the same lot of " experts" that did not know what kind of rifle/ carbine it is. Hate to have to teach marksmanship to clowns like these……..

I guess it's the D- team that is assigned to him.

Former President Jimmy Carter left office in 1981 at 57 years of age. We The People have been been supporting him for 43 years. He turns 100 on October 1. That is a long time to support a man who worked for us for FOUR years. I find that disturbing. There are military veterans who could benefit from that money.

Sniper? Getting his 15 minutes of fame more likely. Unfortunately, thinking that "larger forces invested in eliminating the leading contender for high office before a 'sufficient substitute' (think elected VP) could be installed" causes folks to don tinfoil hats, cross wooden stakes, and throw salt over their shoulder. Time's running out, 7 weeks left. Joe

Initial reports said 'AK-47,' 'standing,' '300-500 yards.'

I consider myself an excellent rifleman. I couldn't hit a CAR with an AK-47, standing, at 300-500 yards.

Sounds like he fired shots in the general direction of Trump. Yes, it's possible one could have hit him, but it is a lame attempt. Which is good.

Then there is the ballistics of the 7.62 X 39. It could be lethal at >300 yds, but likely not.

Overall, a strange action. Risking life for very little chance of actually hurting Trump. More theater than actual assassination attempt?

ONLY the SS fired shots.

'On Monday, Ryan Routh was charged with two federal gun crimes: Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession (max penalty of 15 years in prison and $250,000 fine), and receipt of a firearm with an obliterated serial number (max penalty of 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine).'

How 'bout a charge of attempted murder? Everyone knows what he was doing there. State charges pending? Feds bullying the state boyz?

'"The Agent fired his/her service weapon in the direction of the rifle. A witness saw a male, later identified as Routh, fleeing the area of the tree line and entering a Nissan sport utility vehicle," the agent said.'

A service weapon of unknown gender?

Agree with Greyman50. Perp should have been rendered a bloody mess in the bushes. Arrest pix show NO BULLET HOLES! How can that be? America's best shot at him, yet he gets away unharmed!

I'm guessing The Agent did not run toward the rifle. Just wet his pants, pulled his pistol, and emptied it into the ether. SS has some explaining to do. Again.

Well before this thread is closed. I would just like to add that as a former Air Force Security Police K-9 handler who has spent many hours working perimeter I suspect, or at least hope, they had dogs teams working that tree line. With that said I understand they typically don't reveal details so we may never know.

The Former Presidents Protection Act of 2012, reverses a previous law that limited Secret Service protection for former presidents and their families to 10 years if they served after 1997. Former President George W. Bush and future former presidents will receive Secret Service protection for the rest of their lives.

For someone who seems to like to correct, or attempt to correct posts, it would have been beneficial to watch or read Governor Desantis' comments on a separate Florida investigation.
But regardless, please enjoy a position of prominence on my ignore list. Cheers, it was well deserved honor.:)

Governors can say anything - doesn't mean they are correct.

From the Florida Constitution, Article IV, Section 1:

SECTION 1. Governor.
(a) The supreme executive power shall be vested in a governor, who shall be commander-in-chief of all military forces of the state not in active service of the United States. The governor shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, commission all officers of the state and counties, and transact all necessary business with the officers of government. The governor may require information in writing from all executive or administrative state, county or municipal officers upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices. The governor shall be the chief administrative officer of the state responsible for the planning and budgeting for the state.
(b) The governor may initiate judicial proceedings in the name of the state against any executive or administrative state, county or municipal officer to enforce compliance with any duty or restrain any unauthorized act.

Don't see anything about investigating crime.

Wire fence, heavy bushes, potential shooter may not have even been right behind rifle as he'd waiting a long time, agent may
have shot low to avoid bullets going into traffic on highway.
But YOU KNOW BETTER. Thank you.
